Dallas is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday at home, which was their fourth-straight loss after winning the first three games of the season. In the loss, the Stars never had the lead, as they trailed 1-0 and 2-1 before tying the game up early in the third period. Dallas was led by Wyatt Johnston, who had a goal and an assist, while Jason Robertson also scored.
Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz and Johnston are tied for the lead on the team with eight points apiece, while Johnston leads in goals with five.
The Stars will start Jake Oettinger, who's one of the top goalies in the NHL. Oettinger stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced against the Kings in the loss. He's 3-2-1 with a 3.15 GAA and a .894 SV%. In his career against Carolina, he's 4-3-2 with a 2.31 GAA and a .920 SV%.
