Carolina is 6-1 to start the year and is coming off a 5-4 road win over Colorado on Thursday. In the win, the Hurricanes got out to a 4-1 lead after the first period. However, Carolina allowed three unanswered before defeating Colorado in a shootout. The Hurricanes were led by Sebastian Aho, Logan Stankoven, Seth Jarvis, and Eric Robinson, who scored goals, while Jarvis produced an assist.
Defenseman Shayne Gotisbehere leads the Hurricanes with six assists and seven points in five games. Jordan Staal, Aho and Robinson are tied for the lead on the Canes with three goals apiece.

The Hurricanes are expected to start Frederik Andersen, who's 4-1 with a 2.72 GAA and a .901 SV%. In his career against Dallas, Andersen is 5-5-1 with a 3.17 GAA and a .879 SV%.
Carolina will be without Eric Robinson after leaving Thursday's game, Jaccob Slavin, and Shayne Gostisbehere.
Stars Lose in OT
Dallas is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday at home, which was their fourth-straight loss after winning the first three games of the season. In the loss, the Stars never had the lead, as they trailed 1-0 and 2-1 before tying the game up early in the third period. Dallas was led by Wyatt Johnston, who had a goal and an assist, while Jason Robertson also scored.
Mikko Rantanen, Roope Hintz and Johnston are tied for the lead on the team with eight points apiece, while Johnston leads in goals with five.
The Stars will start Jake Oettinger, who's one of the top goalies in the NHL. Oettinger stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced against the Kings in the loss. He's 3-2-1 with a 3.15 GAA and a .894 SV%. In his career against Carolina, he's 4-3-2 with a 2.31 GAA and a .920 SV%.
Dallas is without Jamie Benn and Nils Lundkvist.
