Red Wings Get OT Win
Detroit is 4-1 and coming off a 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday. The Red Wings never trailed in the game, as Detroit was led by Axel Sandin-Pellikka, who had a goal, while Dylan Larkin scored the OT winner and had an assist. Mason Appleton, and J.T. Compher have the assists.
The Red Wings will likely start John Gibson in net after his good performance on Friday. Gibson is 1-1 with a 3.57 GAA and a .867 SV%, as he was shelled in the first game of the season, but was much better after that. He's 9-9-3 with a 3.48 GAA and a .893 SV% in his career against the Oilers.
Oilers vs. Red Wings Pick
Money line pick for Oilers vs. Red Wings
- Oilers ML -135 (5 units)
Although Detroit has been off to a hot start and the Oilers are in the second half of the back-to-back, this is a good spot for the Oilers to get the win. Detroit's offense has struggled to score, and that should be an issue against a high-flying, potent Edmonton offense. McDavid should lead the way for the Oilers to get a big road win here.
Over/Under Pick for Oilers vs. Red Wings
- Under 6.5 goals -125 (4 units)
The under is a good spot here as both goalies should be hard to beat, while both offenses have struggled to score at times. Detroit plays a very defensive style of game, which will limit the scoring on both ends. The Oilers are 3-1 in hitting the under this season, while the Red Wings are 4-1 in hitting the under, so look for those trends to continue here.
