Can the Senators keep building their momentum?
The Ottawa Senators have one of the most balanced teams in the entire NHL, and while they've got a road record of just 2-3-0 to this point, they're sitting comfortably in third place in the very loaded Atlantic Division. For Ottawa, this season has been all about an offense that now averages 3.57 goals per game following a slow start, but with the team ranking 29th in the NHL in goals allowed to this point, they'll need to find their balance before they can become a consistent threat.
Leading the way in scoring for the Senators has been the duo of Tim Stutzle and Drake Batherson with 13 points each this season, and given their immense depth, it's no shock that a further three players have tallied 10 or more points behind them. Last time out for Ottawa was a dramatic win over the Calgary Flames, with two points to Lars Eller leading the way in this one as Linus Ullmark made 26 stops before the team picked up the dramatic 4-3 victory in a shootout.
Expected starting goaltender: Linus Ullmark (3.36 GAA and an .863 save percentage in 10 games this season).

Can the Canadiens continue their red-hot start?
The Montreal Canadiens began and ended their rebuild rather quickly, and with all of their bright, young stars of the future stepping up quickly, this is now a team that's become a threat to take out top spot in the Atlantic Division in 2025/26. Offensively, this dynamic young lineup ranks sixth in the NHL with 3.64 goals scored per game this season, and with a more than respectable team GAA of 3.00 early in the year, this team has the balance and the star power to be a very good team this season.
To this point, it's captain Nick Suzuki leading the way for Montreal with 16 points early in the year, and with their top six scorers all being under 26 years of age, this is a team that's ready to compete with this core for a long, long time to come. Last time out for the Canadiens was a dramatic victory over the Seattle Kraken, with three points for Cole Caufield leading the way in this one as he picked up another overtime winner as the team came away with the 4-3 victory.
Expected starting goaltender: Sam Montembeault (3.82 GAA and an .842 save percentage in five games).
