Sullivan Gets a Little Revenge over Penguins

After last season, the Penguins and longtime head coach Mike Sullivan mutually decided to part ways, but got some revenge as the new head coach of the New York Rangers, whom Pittsburgh lost to 6-1 in their last game. In their last game, the Ducks were on the road in a wild 7-6 overtime win over the San Jose Sharks, where they came back from a two-goal deficit in the third period. Cutter Gauthier and Chris Kreider each had two goals. Kreider tied the score at 6-6 with only 51 seconds remaining, and Leo Carlsson netted the game-winner only 46 seconds into overtime. Petr Mrazek did not have a good debut for the Ducks, giving up six goals in his first start for his new team and Lukas Dostal may get the start against the Penguins after giving up three goals in a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken in his first start.

On the other side of the coin, the Pens will get it done on the attack facing a Ducks’ team that has given up nine goals in their first two games.
