Sharks Find A Win
The Sharks are coming off a win yesterday in overtime against the Rangers with a final score of 6-5. This win would be the first of the season for the Sharks as they break up a six-game losing streak. The Sharks are now continuing on a four-game road trip that currently has a record of 1-1-0.
San Jose has struggled to start their season on both offense and defense, ranking 29th in scoring and 30th in goals allowed. On defense, we are seeing the Sharks allow the most shots per game at 34.33 and sit second to last in save percentage at .859. The offense for the Sharks has not been much better, sitting 27th in shots per game at 25.17 and 16th in shooting percentage at 10.6%. The one bright side to their offense has been their power play, which sits tenth in the league at 23.8%.
With us seeing Alex Nedeljkovic get the start yesterday against the Rangers, we will likely see Yaroslav Askarov get the start in net against the Devils.

Devils Continue To Sit At The Top
New Jersey picked up another win on Wednesday versus the Wild with a final score of 4-1. This is the sixth win in a row for the Devils as they continue their impressive start to the season. The Devils remain undefeated at home this season across their three games played and continue their three-game home stand hosting the Sharks on Friday.
The Devilsβ offense has been especially lethal this season, ranking third overall in scoring and fourth in shooting percentage at 13.5%. What is more impressive is that they are maintaining such a high shooting percentage while also sitting ninth in total shots per game at 29.57. Add to that the Devils sitting fourth overall in power-play percentage at 30.0%, and you have a team that can overcome any defensive problems they may encounter. As always for the Devils, center Jack Hughes continues to lead the team in scoring, currently having six goals across his seven games played.
We will likely see Jake Allen get the start in net for the Devils on Friday.
Jake Allen:
- has a 3-0-0 record in 4 games with a goals against average of 1.91 and a save percentage of .931 this season.

Sharks versus Devils Picks and Prediction
Puck Line Pick for Sharks vs. Devils
- Sharks +1.5 (+116) (5 units)Β
The Sharks last season had a record of 5-2 against the puck line in game two of a back-to-back on the road. The Devils had a record of 2-4 against the puck line as favorites against the Pacific Division at home in 2024-25. I believe the Sharks are too easily overlooked in this matchup. The last time Jake Allen faced off against the Sharks, the game ended in a 1-0 win for San Jose. While the Sharks may be tired of playing a back-to-back, they may be more ready than the Devils, who have not played since Wednesday. The Sharks have a record of 7-1 against the puck line as underdogs in their last 8 games against the Devils. I am taking the Sharks to keep this one close and battle like they did yesterday against New York.
Over/Under Pick for Sharks vs. Devils
- Β Under 6.5 (-140) (4 units)Β
The Sharks have an over/under record of 2-6-1 in their last nine games against the Devils on the road. The Devils had an over/under record of 14-21-2 as favorites at home in 2024-25. San Jose knows that to keep this game close, they are going to need to shut down the offense of the Devils. New Jersey has dominated on offense this season, but with the Sharks motivated to break the cycle of sitting at the bottom of the league and winning the night prior, we should see them make an extra step on defense to keep this game close.
