Blues Bounce Back After Loss
The Blues are traveling to Vancouver after their win on Saturday versus the Flames with a final score of 4-2. This would be the first win of the season for the Blues as they look to continue this momentum on their short two-game road trip.
In their home opener, the Blues were unable to produce any goals against the Wild and were looking to make up for their poor offensive effort in their next game against the Flames. The Blues achieved this goal and ended up with a decisive win over Calgary. The Blues lacked quality shooting in their first game against the Wild, which they would need moving forward if they intend to struggle with their lack of shooting like last season. We saw not only an increase to the shooting percentage of the Blues but also their shot total, increasing to 28 shots on net. The Blues will need to repeat this against the Canucks if they wish to find goals, as the Canucks last season only allowed 26.8 shots per game.
We will likely see Jordan Binnington take the net for the Blues on Monday versus the Canucks.

Canucks Unable To Continue Home Opener Success
The Canucks are returning home after their loss on Saturday versus the Oilers with a final score of 3-1. This would be the first loss of the season for Vancouver as they attempt to bounce back with another home victory.
Vancouver was only able to muster 15 shots on net against Edmonton in their first road game of the season. While we saw impressive goaltending once again from Thatcher Demko with a .944 save percentage, it was not enough to grab the win. This was an issue last season as the goaltending tended to lead the Canucks to more wins than their offense. Vancouver, last season, was ranked the second-worst team in shots per game, only averaging 25.5 shots per game. This lack of offensive output will need to improve if they wish to reach the postseason, something they were unable to do last year.
We will likely see Thatcher Demko get the start in net for the Canucks on Monday.
Thatcher Demko:
- had a 10-8-3 record in 23 games with a goals against average of 2.90 and a save percentage of .889 in 2024-25.
- is 3-2-3 in 8 games with a goals against average of 2.73 and a save percentage of .910 against the Blues in his career.
Injuries:
- Blueger C Out - Undisclosed
- Joseph D Out - Undisclosed
- Brisebois D Out - Lower-body
- Woo D Out - Upper-body
- Hoglander LW Out - Ankle
Blues vs. Canucks Picks and Predictions
Money Line Pick for Blues vs. Canucks
- Blues Money Line (+110) (4 units)
The Canucks have a record of 3-5-2 in their last ten games versus the Blues at home. The Blues had a 7-3-2 record against the Pacific Division on the road in 2024-25. Jordan Binnington has a record of 2-1-0 in 3 games with a goals against average of 2.29 and a save percentage of .932 against the Canucks on the road in his career. This is going to be a close game as many of the games between the Canucks and Blues has been. However, I do not have faith in the Canucks to pick up the win against a Blues team that has played well in the past against them. Vancouver seems to continue to struggle in producing shots and unless they can increase their shooting percentage, not many will be able to get past Binnington in net.
Over/Under Pick for Blues vs. Canucks
- Over 5.5 (-118) (4 units)
The Blues have an over/under record of 4-2-1 in their last seven games against the Canucks on the road. St. Louis did a great job last season in shutting down shots to their net, averaging only 27.2 shots allowed per game. This will be a huge problem for the Canucks to get over, but the easiest way to overcome this is the power play. Last season, the Blues were 28th in penalty kill percentage at 74.2%. Vancouver is hunting for goals on the power play, but so far this season, they have yet to find one. The Canucks and Blues have both seen overtime plenty of times in their meetings in the past and I suspect we should see another example of this on Monday. I am expecting a 3-3 overtime game, much like their outings in the past.
