The Flyers had a record of 0-2-1 against the Maple Leafs in 2024-25. The puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT. We have the best NHL Predictions sure to provide a great payout.

Maple Leafs’ Offense Keeping Team Afloat

Toronto is heading to Philadelphia after their loss on Wednesday versus the Blue Jackets with a final score of 6-3. This is the fourth loss in the last six games for the Maple Leafs as they look to wrap up a short two-game road trip on a high note on Saturday. Following their road trip, Toronto is returning home for a lengthy home stand, starting on Monday against the Penguins.

The Maple Leafs have looked great on offense this season, ranking 10th overall in scoring and ninth in shots per game at 29.7. Unfortunately, this offense has proven not to be enough in many games as the  Maple Leafs allow too many goals due to their netminders. Toronto is 26th in goals allowed this season and ranks 29th in save percentage at .865. While their defense is not the greatest, allowing an average of 28.36 shots per game (19th), they should see more of an effort out of their goaltending to give their offense a chance to win the game for them.

We are likely to see Anthony Stolarz get the start in net for the Maple Leafs.

Anthony Stolarz:

  • has a record of 3-4-1 in 8 games with a goals against average of 3.27 and a save percentage of .886 this season.
  • has a record of 3-2-0 in 5 games with a goals against average of 2.42 and a save percentage of .919 against the Flyers in his career.

Injuries:

  • Nylander RW Day To Day - Lower-body
  • Tanev D Day To Day - Upper Body
  • Laughton LW Day To Day - Lower-body
  • Jarnkrok C Day To Day - Lower Body
  • Woll G Out - Personal
  • Rifai D Out - Wrist

Flyers’ Defense Finding Wins

Philadelphia is continuing its home stand after a win on Thursday against the Predators with a final score of 4-1. This is the third win in a row for the Flyers and their fifth win in their last six games. Philadelphia is continuing a five-game home stand, which has a record of 3-0.

The Flyers on offense this season have lacked luster as they rank 26th in scoring and last in shots per game at 23.10. However, while their offense has struggled, their defense and goaltending have thrived and offered a huge opportunity for wins. Philadelphia is the second-best team this season in goals allowed, and this is due to a combination of their defense, goaltending, and special teams. Philadelphia is fourth in save percentage at .911, fourth in penalty kill percentage at 89.2% and is allowing an average of 27.1 shots per game. All of this has allowed the Flyers to grab much-needed divisional wins in their recent games, and if this continues, they may have a chance to take the top of their division.

We will likely see Dan Vladar get the start in net for the Flyers on Saturday.

Dan Vladar:

  • has a 4-2-0 record in 6 games with a goals against average of 1.67 and a save percentage of .939 this season.
  • has a record of 0-1-3 in 5 games with a goals against average of 3.60 and a save percentage of .887 against the Maple Leafs in his career.

Injuries:

  • Couturier C Day To Day - Undisclosed
  • Ersson G Out - Undisclosed
  • Ristolainen D Out - Triceps

Maple Leafs versus Flyers Picks and Prediction

Money Line Pick for Maple Leafs versus Flyers

  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-125) (4 units)

The Flyers have a 1-7-2 record in their last ten games versus the Maple Leafs. Anthony Stolarz has a 2-1-0 record in 3 games with a goals against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .923 versus the Flyers on the road in his career. This game is going to come down to which goaltender can stand stronger in the net. The strength of the Maple Leafs’ offense is likely to be stopped by the defense of the Flyers, and with both offsetting each other, we will have to see if either goaltender will struggle in this matchup. Vladar is taking the net as Samuel Ersson remains out with an injury. While Vladar has performed well this season, taking the starting role may put more strain on the goaltender than when he was in tandem with Ersson. I am going to take the road favorite to bounce back after their recent loss. The Maple Leafs had a record of 16-8-2 as favorites on the road in 2024-25.

Over/Under Pick for Maple Leafs versus Flyers

  • Over 5.5 (-142) (4 units)

The Flyers have an over/under record of 2-0 as underdogs at home this season. The Maple Leafs have an over/under record of 7-2-1 in their last ten games against the Flyers. Philadelphia has done a great job on defense and in net this season, but may face some difficulties going up against such a strong offensive team like the Maple Leafs. Toronto has struggled a lot in net this season, and I suspect that the Flyers will also be able to take advantage of this. This looks to be a close back-and-forth game that could very well go into overtime.
