Vancouver Canucks vs Anaheim Ducks Picks and Predictions for Tuesday, October 27, 2026
It's been a difficult October for Vancouver, and the Canucks are still looking for a way out of their losing streak. They'll be in Anaheim on Tuesday to face the Ducks at Honda Center, with the game starting at 10:00 pm ET on ESPN+. Vancouver is 2-10-1 and sits eighth in the Pacific Division after Sunday's 4-2 loss to Minnesota. That's five straight defeats for the Canucks. Anaheim hasn't been winning much either, but the Ducks snapped a four-game skid Saturday with a 5-4 victory in Philadelphia. They're 5-6-0 and fifth in the Pacific. Vancouver Canucks Have Had a Rough Time Defensively
The Canucks have spent much of the past two weeks chasing games. Their latest loss came Sunday against Minnesota, which left Vancouver with a 4-2 defeat on home ice. Detroit had beaten the Canucks 5-2 on Thursday, and Carolina scored six against them earlier in the week. Before that, Vancouver lost 4-2 to Tampa Bay and 3-2 in overtime to Florida. Add those five games together and the Canucks have surrendered 22 goals while scoring only 11. The season numbers aren't any prettier. Vancouver allows 4.62 goals per game, and opponents are getting 33.5 shots on net compared with just 19.8 for the Canucks.
Elias Pettersson has four goals and nine assists through 13 games, leading Vancouver with 13 points. All four of his goals have come with the man advantage. Jonathan Lekkerimaki also has four goals and has added five assists, matching Brock Boeser's nine points. Filip Hronek has collected eight assists from the blue line, and Paul Cotter has scored four times in 12 appearances. Vancouver's biggest trouble has been keeping the puck out of its own net. Kevin Lankinen has gone 1-7-0 with a 6.17 GAA and .812 save percentage. Leevi Merilainen has better numbers, recording a 3.12 GAA and .912 save percentage, but he's only 1-3-1.
Injuries: Akil Thomas, Mackenzie MacEachern and Thatcher Demko are out.
Anaheim Ducks Have Finally Picked Up Another Win
Anaheim had gone more than a week without a victory before Saturday's visit to Philadelphia. The Ducks lost 4-2 to Boston at home on October 16, then headed east and dropped three more games. The Rangers beat Anaheim 5-2, the Islanders won 3-2, and New Jersey handed the Ducks a 4-1 loss Thursday. Anaheim finally got some scoring against Philadelphia, putting five goals on the board in a 5-4 win. The Ducks are still below .500, and their defense hasn't helped much. They've allowed 37 goals through 11 games, with opponents averaging 27.2 shots. Anaheim has also given up 10 power-play goals.
Leo Carlsson has been doing most of the setup work for the Ducks, collecting 10 assists and three goals in 11 games. Beckett Sennecke is the team's top goal scorer with six, including three on the power play. Jackson LaCombe has one goal and eight assists while averaging more than 26 minutes of ice time. Mikael Granlund has eight points, and Cutter Gauthier has six in 10 appearances. Lukas Dostal has four victories in eight decisions, although his 3.27 GAA and .880 save percentage show how difficult things have been in net. Ville Husso has gone 1-2-0 with a 3.09 GAA and .886 save percentage.
Injuries: Pavel Mintyukov, Ian Moore, Ryan Poehling and Troy Terry are out.
Key To The Game
Vancouver has allowed at least three goals in each of its last five games, and Anaheim has scored just eight across its last four losses. The Ducks need to take advantage of Vancouver's struggling defense and penalty kill.
Vancouver Canucks vs Anaheim Ducks Game Pick
- Anaheim Ducks
Anaheim has struggled lately, but Vancouver's defensive problems offer an excellent opportunity to build on Saturday's win. The Canucks have lost five straight and allowed 22 goals in those games. Their penalty kill is operating at just 64.4%, giving Sennecke and the Ducks plenty to attack. Anaheim hasn't been reliable in goal either, but Carlsson and Granlund help the home team generate enough offense to win on Tuesday night.
Vancouver Canucks vs Anaheim Ducks Over/Under Pick
- Over
Vancouver has surrendered at least four goals in each of its last four games, and Anaheim just scored five in Philadelphia. The Canucks' goalies have struggled, especially Lankinen, who owns a 6.17 GAA. Anaheim hasn't exactly shut teams down either, allowing 3.36 goals per game. Both penalty kills have weaknesses, and the Canucks have some capable power-play scorers. There's plenty of room for goals, making the over the pick Tuesday.
