Vancouver Canucks vs Edmonton Oilers Picks and Prediction for Saturday November 7 2026
Vancouver heads to Edmonton on Saturday night for a 10 PM ET game against the Oilers at Rogers Place. These teams have already played twice this season, and both games were pretty wild. Vancouver won the opener 6-5 in overtime, then Edmonton came back and won 9-7 two nights later. That’s 27 combined goals in two games. I’m not expecting another football score Saturday, but Edmonton has been scoring more than four goals a night, and Vancouver hasn’t been stopping much of anything. This looks like a tough spot for the Canucks. Be ready for all the NHL games with our free NHL picks.
Vancouver Canucks Have Been Getting Beaten Up
Vancouver is 3-14-1 after losing 6-2 to Winnipeg on Thursday. The Canucks have been struggling just about everywhere, and the losses keep piling up. They’ve allowed six or more goals in several games, and it’s difficult to find much confidence in a team that has won only three times in 18 tries.
The Canucks have scored 53 goals in 18 games, averaging 2.94 per night. They’ve allowed 83, which works out to 4.61 against. That’s the worst defensive number in the league. Vancouver can score occasionally, as those first two meetings with Edmonton showed, but the Canucks haven’t been able to keep opponents from getting quality chances. Against the Oilers, that’s a serious problem.
Vancouver has also been having trouble controlling games when opponents start putting pressure on its defense. The Canucks have spent too much time in their own zone, and the goaltending hasn’t been able to cover up all those mistakes. Edmonton has already scored 14 goals against Vancouver in two meetings. That’s not exactly encouraging for the Canucks heading into another trip to Rogers Place.
Edmonton Oilers Have Been Scoring at Will
Edmonton is 11-3-3 after losing 5-4 to Anaheim on Thursday. The Oilers had been playing some excellent hockey before that loss, and they’ve still got one of the best records in the Western Conference. Edmonton has already beaten Vancouver once this season, and the Oilers should have plenty of confidence heading into Saturday.
The Oilers have scored 70 goals in 17 games, averaging 4.12 per night. That’s the highest scoring average in the NHL. They’ve allowed 51, or three per game. Edmonton isn’t perfect defensively, and Vancouver could certainly get a couple of goals. But the Oilers have been so productive offensively that they can overcome those mistakes.
The Oilers are dealing with some injuries, including Zach Hyman, Matt Savoie, and Isaac Howard. There are also questions about the goaltending depth, with Frederik Andersen and Devon Levi unavailable. Those absences matter, but Edmonton has still been scoring enough to win games. Against Vancouver’s defense, the Oilers should get plenty of good opportunities.
Vancouver Canucks vs Edmonton Oilers Picks and Prediction
Moneyline Pick: Edmonton Oilers
I’m taking Edmonton. I know Vancouver beat the Oilers in the season opener, and the Canucks have already shown they can score against this defense. But Edmonton has been the much better team since then. The Oilers are averaging more than four goals a night, while Vancouver is allowing more than four and a half. That’s a pretty ugly matchup for the Canucks. Edmonton should have the puck in the offensive zone for long stretches, and I think the Oilers win comfortably.
Total Pick: Over 6.5 Goals
Give me the over 6.5. These teams combined for 11 goals in their first meeting and 16 in the second. Those games were unusually high-scoring, and I’m not expecting another 9-7 result. But Edmonton is scoring 4.12 goals per game, Vancouver is allowing 4.61, and neither team has been completely reliable defensively. The Oilers could get five by themselves, and Vancouver has enough offense to contribute a couple. The concern is Edmonton controlling the game so completely that Vancouver barely scores. Still, I think we get at least seven.
Final Picks: Edmonton Oilers Moneyline | Over 6.5 Goals (if available)
