We have an interesting Pacific Division NHL matchup as the Vegas Golden Knights are on the road to take on the Seattle Kraken on Saturday night inside Climate Pledge Arena for our Golden Knights vs. Kraken prediction. The Golden Knights (1-0-1, three points) are first in the Pacific Division and are coming off a 4-3 overtime road win on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. The Kraken (1-0-0, 2 points) are third in the Pacific Division and are coming off Thursday’s 3-1 home win over the Anaheim Ducks. This is the first of four games against one another as they will not play until the end of January. Net the value: NHL predictions for Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken with trends that matter.

Golden Knights Looking to Continue Racking up Points

The Vegas Golden Knights are clicking to begin the season as they continue putting up points. They rank first in hockey with nine goals scored thus far after ranking fifth last season. Center Jack Eichel is leading the sport in points as he has six (two goals, four assists) thus far and has recorded multiple points in each of the first two games this season. In his last game against the San Jose Sharks, he finished with a goal and one assist on three shot attempts during his 22:34 on the ice. They have been performing better than the league average throughout the season on the power play as they are 3-for-10 (30.0 percent) in those situations.

Adin Hill is going to be between the pipes for this game and had a rough start to his season as he is 0-0-1 with a .808 save percentage and 4.62 goals allowed per game. Last season, Hill played in 50 games and recorded a .906 save percentage and 2.47 goals allowed per game. Vegas has been doing well on the defensive side of things as they are 30th in the sport with eight goals allowed so far and were third in the sport last year. They are below the league average at killing penalties as they have killed 3-of-5 (60.0 percent) up to this point.

Kraken Looking to Stay Undefeated

The Seattle Kraken are looking to start off on a winning note and put a streak together after they edged Anaheim to start the season. Left winger Jared McCann is leading the team as he has one point (zero goals, one assist) thus far and was able to record 61 points in 82 games last season. Seattle was 0-for-2 (0.00%) in their power play percentage up to this point of the season, so they need to figure out how to score in that aspect.

Joey Daccord is back in the goal for this game for the second time this year after recording 35 saves in the opener.Β  So far this season, he is 1-0-0 with 1.00 goals given up per game and a .972 save percentage. In the 2024-25 season, Daccord allowed 2.75 goals per game and a .906 save percentage in 57 games (55 starts). They were able to kill their only power play attempt this season, which makes things a lot better for them as the beginning of the season rolls on.

Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken Pick

Spread Pick for Golden Knights vs. Kraken

  • Vegas Golden Knights -170 (5 units)

There is a clear difference between the quality of teams on the ice for this game as the Vegas Golden Knights have a chance to win the Presidents’ Trophy. The combination of Mitch Marner joining Jack Eichel will put the team on another stratosphere as they are incredible scorers, but even better passers of the puck. Seattle struggled to defend the puck last season as their defense was unable to consistently get stops. With a new coach in Lane Lambert for Seattle, it could take some time for his way of playing to show up on the scoreboard so take the Vegas Golden Knights on the road to win here.

Over/Under Pick for Golden Knights vs. Kraken

  • OVER 6.5 (4 units)

Yes, this is a lot of goals, but there is a lot of excitement in these offenses. Vegas has two potential 100+ point scorers on their roster to set up the team for putting the puck in the back of the net, while Seattle’s defense has been shaky. Adin Hill allowed five goals on 26 shots in his opening game, so he has not gotten off to the start he was hoping for. So far this season, both teams are putting shots on the net as the Golden Knights are 11th with 33.0 shots on goal per game, while the Kraken are 15th with 31.0 shots per game on goal. All in all, go with OVER 6.5 GOALS in this game as the better bet.
