Jets Have Won Three In A Row

The Jets come into Los Angeles on a roll, having just handled the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 at home on Saturday. That win was their third straight and pushed them to 9-3-0 on the season, good for second place in the Central Division. Kyle Connor scored twice in that game, including a penalty shot, while rookie Brad Lambert notched his first NHL goal. Winnipeg’s offense has been humming, averaging nearly four goals per game, and they’ve been doing it with depth. Mark Scheifele leads the way with 20 points, but Connor, Gabriel Vilardi, and Vladislav Namestnikov have all been steady contributors. When this team gets rolling early, they’re tough to slow down.

What’s been equally impressive is how well Winnipeg has defended. They’ve allowed just 30 goals through 12 games, the second-best mark in the league, and their penalty kill has been excellent at nearly 90 percent. Connor Hellebuyck has been his usual steady self in net, posting a .921 save percentage, while backup Eric Comrie has stepped in and delivered quality starts as well. That kind of goaltending depth gives the Jets confidence no matter who’s between the pipes. Their ability to transition quickly from defense to offense has been a big part of their success, and it’s something they’ll look to exploit against a Kings team that has struggled to keep pucks out of their net.

The Jets also bring momentum on the road, where they’ve been perfect so far this season. They’ve shown they can win in different ways—whether it’s a high-scoring shootout or a grind-it-out defensive battle—and that versatility makes them dangerous. With Scheifele driving play, Connor finishing chances, and Josh Morrissey anchoring the blue line, Winnipeg has the balance and confidence to keep their winning streak alive in Los Angeles.

Kings Are Looking For Consistency Home

The Kings, meanwhile, are trying to regroup after a 4-1 home loss to the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. That defeat dropped them to 5-4-4 on the season and continued a frustrating trend at Crypto.com Arena, where they’ve yet to win in regulation this year. Los Angeles actually outshot New Jersey 44-22 in that game but couldn’t solve Jacob Markstrom, and their power play went 0-for-4. Andrei Kuzmenko scored the lone goal, but it came too late to spark a comeback. For a team that’s been competitive most nights, the lack of finishing touch has been a real issue.

Offensively, the Kings are averaging just under three goals per game, with Adrian Kempe leading the way at 15 points. Quinton Byfield has been a strong playmaker, and Kevin Fiala has chipped in timely goals, but overall the attack hasn’t been consistent enough. The power play has been a particular sore spot, converting at just 16 percent, which ranks near the bottom of the league. At even strength, they’ve been able to generate shots, but turning those chances into goals has been the challenge. Against a Winnipeg team that doesn’t give up much, the Kings will need to find a way to capitalize on the opportunities they do get.

Defensively, Los Angeles has given up 41 goals in 13 games, and their penalty kill has been shaky at 74 percent. Darcy Kuemper has been serviceable in net but hasn’t stolen games the way Hellebuyck has for Winnipeg. The Kings have been better on the road than at home, which makes this matchup tricky, but they’ll be looking to use their size and forecheck to slow down the Jets’ speed. If they can control the puck and keep Winnipeg from dictating tempo, they’ll have a chance to turn things around. Still, with the way the Jets are playing, Los Angeles will need one of their most complete efforts of the season to pull off the win.

Winnipeg Jets vs Los Angeles Kings Pick

Jets vs Kings Moneyline Pick

  • LA Kings -122 (1 Unit)

Backing Los Angeles at home makes sense because this feels like the kind of spot where the Kings can finally put together a complete effort in front of their own fans. They’ve been generating plenty of shots and offensive zone time, but the finishing touch hasn’t always been there. Against Winnipeg, the key will be converting those chances early and forcing the Jets to chase the game instead of dictating pace. With Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala capable of breaking open a contest, and Quinton Byfield continuing to grow into a reliable playmaker, the Kings have the offensive weapons to tilt momentum their way if they stay aggressive.

The other factor is the urgency Los Angeles should bring after a frustrating loss to New Jersey. This group knows they’ve left points on the table at home, and that kind of motivation often shows up in the form of tighter defensive play and more physicality on the forecheck. Darcy Kuemper doesn’t need to outduel Connor Hellebuyck outright—he just needs the support of a cleaner defensive effort in front of him. If the Kings can limit Winnipeg’s transition game and win battles along the boards, they’re in a strong position to grab a statement win and remind everyone that Crypto.com Arena can still be a tough place to play.

Jets vs Kings Over/Under Pick

  • Under 5.5 (3 Units)

The under 5.5 looks like the right call because both Winnipeg and Los Angeles have leaned on defensive structure and goaltending to stay competitive, even when their offenses generate plenty of shots. The Jets have been one of the stingiest teams in the league, anchored by Connor Hellebuyck, while the Kings have struggled to finish chances despite piling up attempts. With Winnipeg’s penalty kill operating at a high level and Los Angeles still searching for consistency on the power play, this matchup sets up more like a grind-it-out, low-event game where quality chances are limited and the total stays under the number.
