EPL Matchweek Picks Starting October 31, 2026
Premier League Matchweek 9 Picks and Predictions for October 31–November 2, 2026
The Premier League has ten matches this weekend, and a couple of them deserve plenty of attention. Chelsea hosts Manchester United on Saturday morning, Manchester City faces Brighton, and Liverpool welcomes Arsenal on Sunday in what could be the biggest game of the round.
There are also some good underdog prices. Brentford is close to even money against Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa is a slight favorite against Fulham, and Newcastle’s home matchup with Everton looks much closer than the names might suggest.
Here are my picks for every Premier League Matchweek 9 fixture.
Premier League Picks at a Glance
Chelsea vs. Manchester United
Chelsea gets home field against a Manchester United side that has struggled for consistency. United has enough attacking ability to cause problems, but its defensive performances have been uneven, and that’s a difficult weakness to bring into Stamford Bridge.
Best Bet: Chelsea to Win (-125)
I’ll back Chelsea at home. Manchester United is capable of producing a surprise, particularly if it gets opportunities on the counterattack, but Chelsea has the stronger overall situation. At a moderate favorite’s price, the home side is the preferred selection.
Bournemouth vs. Leeds United
Bournemouth and Leeds look fairly evenly matched, which explains the close three-way market. Bournemouth has home field, but Leeds has enough attacking ability to make this competitive if the visitors control possession.
Best Bet: Bournemouth to Win (+105)
I’ll take Bournemouth at plus money. Neither side has a huge advantage, but the home setting and a price slightly better than even make Bournemouth worth backing. The draw is a real possibility, so this isn’t a game I’d attack heavily.
Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest
Brentford has been one of the more competitive teams in the opening weeks, while Nottingham Forest has struggled to establish consistency. Brentford should have opportunities to create chances at home, particularly if Forest gives the ball away in dangerous areas.
Best Bet: Brentford to Win (+100)
Give me Brentford at even money. Forest can defend well enough to make this difficult, but Brentford has the stronger home situation and should create more scoring opportunities. The price makes the Bees attractive.
Coventry City vs. Sunderland
This is an interesting matchup between two clubs trying to establish themselves in the Premier League. Sunderland is a modest road favorite, but Coventry gets home field and will view this as a winnable match.
Best Bet: Sunderland to Win (+125)
I’ll take Sunderland at the underdog-like plus-money return. Coventry could make this a difficult afternoon, especially if it controls the midfield, but Sunderland has shown enough attacking ability to justify a narrow edge.
Hull City vs. Ipswich Town
The market has this game almost completely even. Hull gets home field, Ipswich has enough quality to compete away from home, and neither side has demonstrated enough separation to make me enthusiastic about picking a winner.
Best Bet: Draw (+240)
I’ll take the draw. This looks like the kind of game where both clubs are more concerned about avoiding a costly mistake than taking unnecessary risks. A 1-1 result wouldn’t surprise me, and the draw price is attractive enough to consider.
Manchester City vs. Brighton
Manchester City is favored at home, and that’s understandable. City has enough attacking quality to dominate possession and create scoring chances, even against a Brighton side that has been competitive.
Brighton won’t simply sit back for ninety minutes, though. The visitors have enough attacking ability to punish mistakes, and that creates some danger for the favorite.
Best Bet: Manchester City to Win (-167)
I’ll back City at home. Brighton is capable of making this entertaining, but Manchester City has the stronger attacking options and should create enough opportunities to win. The price isn’t cheap, so I’d avoid chasing it much higher.
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Crystal Palace
Tottenham is the biggest favorite on the weekend board, and Palace faces a difficult road assignment. Spurs have the attacking ability to create separation, particularly if they score early and force Palace to open up.
Best Bet: Tottenham to Win (-200)
I’ll take Tottenham, although -200 is expensive. Crystal Palace can be dangerous on the counterattack, and that makes a narrow home victory possible. Still, Spurs have the stronger matchup and should be able to control enough of the game to win.
Aston Villa vs. Fulham
Aston Villa gets home field against Fulham in a match that looks closer than some might expect. Fulham has enough organization to keep this competitive, but Villa has the attacking ability to break down opponents when playing in Birmingham.
Best Bet: Aston Villa to Win (-111)
I’ll back Villa at home. Fulham could certainly force a draw if it defends well, but Aston Villa should generate the better scoring opportunities. At a price close to even money, the home team is the preferred side.
Liverpool vs. Arsenal
Sunday’s biggest matchup brings Arsenal to Anfield. Liverpool has the home advantage, but Arsenal has been one of the league’s strongest teams and is actually the betting favorite despite playing away.
That’s an interesting market signal. Arsenal has enough defensive structure to handle difficult road environments, and Liverpool will need to be careful about giving away possession in dangerous areas.
Best Bet: Arsenal to Win (+130)
I’ll take Arsenal at plus money. Liverpool is dangerous at Anfield, and a draw is certainly possible, but Arsenal has the stronger overall form and enough attacking quality to win a close match. Getting +130 makes the visitors attractive.
Newcastle United vs. Everton
Monday’s match looks competitive. Newcastle has home field and is favored, but Everton has enough defensive organization to keep things close if it avoids falling behind early.
Best Bet: Newcastle United to Win (+125)
I’ll back Newcastle at home. Everton can make this a frustrating match, but Newcastle should create more opportunities and has enough attacking ability to find a winner. The plus-money price is reasonable.
Premier League Best Bet of the Week
Brentford to beat Nottingham Forest (+100) is my Premier League Best Bet of the Week. Brentford has home field, Forest has struggled for consistency, and the market is offering an even-money return.
There’s always draw risk in a three-way soccer market, but Brentford has the stronger setup for this fixture.
Final Pick: Brentford to Win (+100)
