Liverpool Have Found Goals but Still Concede

Liverpool have certainly given their fans plenty to watch lately. The Reds scored six against Las Palmas in the Champions League, then returned to Premier League action with a 2-1 win at Brentford. Tuesday brought another busy night at Anfield, where Liverpool beat Villarreal 4-3. That's 12 goals in three games, although they've conceded eight during the same stretch. League matches have been a different story, with Liverpool scoring nine goals in seven outings. The Reds also lost 3-0 to Manchester City earlier this month.

Alexander Isak has scored five times in six Premier League appearances, putting him comfortably ahead of his teammates. Cody Gakpo leads Liverpool with three assists, while Florian Wirtz has two. Ryan Gravenberch is available again after serving his suspension, giving Liverpool another option alongside Alexis Mac Allister. The Reds have recorded 1.44 expected goals per league game and allowed 1.15. Dominik Szoboszlai remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley are also unavailable. Ronald Araujo is expected to start on the right side of defense.

Injuries: Szoboszlai, Frimpong, Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni are unavailable. Victor Munoz is questionable.

Brighton Bring Four Straight League Clean Sheets

Brighton's recent league results have been hard to ignore. The Seagulls have won four consecutive Premier League matches without allowing a goal, scoring 15 times over that stretch. Sunday's 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace was the latest example of how much damage this attack can do. Brighton have scored 3.29 goals per league game and conceded only 0.71. Five clean sheets in seven outings also stand out. Their European trip to Jablonec on Thursday adds another fixture to the week, although Brighton rotated much of the lineup for that match.

Pascal Gross has three league goals and four assists, giving Brighton a dependable creator in midfield. Charalampos Kostoulas and Jack Hinshelwood also have three goals each, while Diego Gomez has supplied two assists. Brighton average 2.01 expected goals and 1.48 expected goals against, showing they still give opponents opportunities despite the clean sheets. Kaoru Mitoma, Femi Azeez, Evan Ferguson and Stefanos Tzimas remain sidelined. Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, Pascal Struijk and Zadok Yohanna are listed as questionable. Kostoulas is projected to lead the attack.

Injuries: Mitoma, Azeez, Ferguson and Tzimas are out. Minteh, Wieffer, Struijk and Yohanna are questionable.

Key To The Game

Liverpool have scored freely in Europe, but Brighton have kept four straight league clean sheets. Wirtz finding space behind Gross and Chema is important for Liverpool. Brighton can attack the spaces left by Liverpool's advancing full-backs.

Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion Game Pick

  • Brighton & Hove Albion +0.5

Brighton have the better league form, with four straight wins and no goals conceded during that run. Liverpool's attack has improved, but the Reds also allowed three goals to both Las Palmas and Villarreal. Gross gives Brighton an outlet in midfield, and the visitors have several players finishing chances. With Liverpool's defense leaving openings, Brighton have enough to earn a result. Brighton +0.5 is the play at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool vs Brighton & Hove Albion Over/Under Pick

  • Over 3.5

Brighton's league defending has been excellent, but Liverpool's last three matches across all competitions produced 20 goals. The Reds scored 12 and conceded eight in that stretch. Brighton arrive averaging 3.29 league goals, with Gross creating chances and Kostoulas leading the line. Both teams have attackers capable of punishing mistakes, especially when the full-backs push forward. Four goals are on the table, making the over 3.5 the pick on Sunday.
