UConn Huskies vs Boston College Eagles Pick and Prediction October 18th, 2025
Use Code SSWC Boston College will be hosting UConn on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. EST in BC Alumni Stadium. Check out our UConn Huskies vs Boston College Golden Eagles pick and prediction here!
UConn is one of the few remaining independent teams in the country. While they are tied with Notre Dame based on a 4-2 overall record, nobody projects them to be better than the Irish. However, the Huskies have won their last three in a row heading into this game. Meanwhile, Boston College is ranked dead last in the ACC with an 0-4 conference record and a 1-5 record overall. They have lost three in a row heading into this contest and are desperately looking for a win here. Interestingly, Boston College is a 1.5 point favorite while the total is set at 58.5 points. Can the Golden Eagles end their winning streak with a win at home?

Huskies Hoping for Another Win
UConn essentially curb-stomped FIU in their most recent outing, winning by a score of 51-10 on Oct. 4. QB Joe Fagnano had four touchdowns and 355 yards while completing 22/28 passes. Cam Edwards rushed for 80 yards and a TD while Skyler Bell caught six passes, including two TD receptions. Amir Renwick had nine tackles, one sack, and one interception in a day to remember. Two others had an interception and Byrun Parham trailed closely behind with eight tackles and one sack.

Fagnano has a 67.2% completion rate while throwing for 1,556 yards, 11 touchdowns, and no interceptions. Edwards is the primary rusher for the Cougars with 637 and seven of the 14 rushing touchdowns. Skyler Bell remains the top receiver with 48 receptions. To put it in perspective, the next closest player has 17. Bell also has 562 yards receiving and six TD receptions to lead the team. Parham has the most tackles on the season with 47, but Oumar Diomande has the most solo tackles with 28. Parham has 6.5 sacks already, and D'Mon Brinson has a team-high six passes defended. Brinson is tied with four others with one interception each. UConn only has two players listed on their injury report, and only one is confirmed to be out for this upcoming contest.
Boston College at the Bottom
The Golden Eagles were defeated by the Clemson Tigers by a score of 41-10 in their most recent game on Oct. 11 to fall to 0-4 in the ACC. Dylan Lonergan went 12/19 for 117 yards and Shaker Reisig went only 3/10 for 19 yards and an interception. Turbo Richard had 75 rushing yards and a touchdown in the effort, while Lewis Bond caught seven passes for 70 yards to lead the team. KP Price had ten tackles and four tackle assists while being one of two players to record an interception. Quintayvious Hutchins had the only sack for the Golden Eagles.
Lonergan, an Alabama transfer, has taken the majority of reps at the quarterback position for Boston College, completing 67% of his passes for 1,394 yards, nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. Turbo Richard is the only rusher with over 100 yards, and he has 406 along with a team-high five touchdowns. Bond leads the receivers with 45 receptions for 436 yards, but he has yet to score a TD. Price has a total of 50 tackles, while Hutchins and Sedarius McConnell each have a team-high two sacks. Syair Torrance and Ashton Cunningham each have three passes defended on the year, while four different players have an interception. Fifteen players are listed on the injury report for Boston College, including Torrance, and all but two are questionable to play this week.
UConn vs. Boston College Pick
Spread Pick for UConn vs. Boston College
- UConn Money Line (4 units)
The spread is so small that I might as well pick a money line. I like UConn as the underdogs here. Fagnano has done a solid job taking care of the ball and limiting the number of mistakes. Skyler Bell has yet to be stopped in the passing game and the Huskies are coming in with confidence after blowing FIU out of the water to improve their win streak. On the other side, Boston College has not performed well these last few weeks, and the season is all but done for them with an 0-4 conference record. When you couple that with all the injuries Boston College is dealing with, forcing them to play younger players who are not ready for game action yet, I have much more confidence taking UConn as an underdog here.
Over/Under pick for UConn vs Boston College
- Under 58.5 (4 units)
When these two teams go head-to-head, the scoreline is usually pretty low. These two teams are 3-1 on the under when playing each other and since 2018, the winning team has scored 21 points or less. Granted, Boston College's defense is something we cannot rely on at all, but the Golden Eagles have combined for 17 points scored in their last two games. That seems quite ambitious considering the spread was only 1.5 points favoring Boston College. I expect each team to minimize the other's possessions by doing their best to secure the run game at the start, and I don't have confidence the slow start will result in the over being hit.
