Atlanta Brings Plenty of Scoring

Atlanta has gone 3-2 over its last five games, with its most recent outing resulting in a 95-91 overtime loss. Before that setback, the Dream had consecutive wins of 104-69 and 107-95. Atlanta has shown the ability to generate plenty of offense, particularly against vulnerable defenses.

For the season, the Dream average 90.1 points per game while allowing 85.8. Atlanta shoots 43% from the field and averages 35.4 rebounds, 20.8 assists, and 8.8 steals. The Dream's +4.3 scoring differential is actually better than the Aces' +3.5 margin.

The concern is the matchup itself. Atlanta has lost both meetings against Las Vegas this season. The first was extremely close at 85-84, but the Aces dominated the second meeting 109-87.

Las Vegas Looks to Continue Its Success Against Atlanta

Las Vegas enters at 24-12 but has gone only 2-3 over its last five games. The Aces are coming off a 92-87 loss and have also suffered recent defeats by 111-71 and 98-87. Their two victories during this stretch came by 83-76 and 86-76 scores.

The Aces average 90.6 points per game while allowing 87.1. Las Vegas shoots an impressive 48% from the field and averages 33.4 rebounds, 22.0 assists, and 4.9 blocks. That shooting advantage is significant against an Atlanta team connecting on 43% of its attempts.

Las Vegas also has the home-court advantage and has already demonstrated it can exploit this Atlanta matchup. The Aces' recent inconsistency makes laying 3.5 less attractive, however, especially against a Dream team with a slightly stronger season scoring differential.

Atlanta Dream vs Las Vegas Aces Picks and Prediction

Pick: Las Vegas Aces Moneyline (-155)

Rather than laying 3.5 points, the Aces moneyline is the preferred side. Las Vegas has won both meetings this season and owns the stronger overall record at 24-12. Atlanta has enough offensive production to keep this competitive, which makes the moneyline preferable to asking Las Vegas to win by multiple possessions.

Pick: Over 179.5

The over gets the call on the total. These teams combine to average 180.7 points per game, and their second meeting produced 196 points. Atlanta has scored at least 91 points in four of its last five games, while Las Vegas is allowing 87.1 per game for the season. With both offenses averaging more than 90 points, Over 179.5 provides the better angle.
