Toronto enters the matchup at 11-26 overall and 4-13 on the road, while Seattle is 7-31 overall and 5-13 at home. A majority of the books lists Seattle as a 4.5-point favorite with a total of 177.5. The Storm are -192 on the moneyline, while Toronto is +160.

Toronto has already won both meetings between these teams this season. The Tempo beat Seattle 86-73 on May 13 and followed with a 93-72 victory on May 30. Be ready for all the WNBA action with our free WNBA picks.

Toronto Brings the Better Head-to-Head Results

Toronto comes into Wednesday having lost four of its last five games, with the lone victory being an 82-79 win over Portland on August 21. The Tempo most recently lost 88-78 to Las Vegas after previously falling 93-82 to Washington, 101-95 to Indiana and 94-88 to Dallas.

Toronto averages 87.3 points per game while allowing 93.7, which explains much of its 11-26 record. The Tempo shoot 44% from the field and average 31.3 rebounds, 20.1 assists, 3.2 blocks and 6.9 steals per game.

The interesting element is Toronto's success against Seattle specifically. The Tempo won the first two meetings by 13 and 21 points and scored at least 86 in both. Toronto's recent defense has been a problem, but Seattle has not shown enough consistency to make laying multiple possessions especially comfortable.

Seattle Looks to End Another Losing Streak

Seattle enters this matchup having lost three straight and four of its last five. The Storm most recently suffered a 92-70 loss at Dallas and previously fell 82-80 to Chicago and 84-82 to Portland. Their lone victory during the five-game stretch came in a 97-88 decision over Chicago.

The Storm average 82.9 points per game and allow 88.4. They shoot 43% from the field while averaging 33.7 rebounds, 19.1 assists, 4.5 blocks and 7.6 steals. Seattle owns advantages over Toronto in rebounding, blocks and steals, but the overall scoring profile remains below Toronto's.

Seattle's 7-31 record also makes this a difficult favorite to trust at -4.5. The Storm have won only five home games this season and have already lost twice to Toronto by double digits. While Seattle may be competitive enough to win outright, the spread creates a considerably different question.

Toronto Tempo vs Seattle Storm Picks and Prediction

Pick: Toronto Tempo +4.5

Toronto +4.5 is the side pick. Seattle may have the stronger matchup projection and home court, but laying 4.5 points with a 7-31 team that has already lost twice to Toronto by 13 and 21 points is difficult to justify. Toronto has been poor defensively, yet it has scored 78 or more in each of its last five games and has already demonstrated that this Seattle matchup suits its offense. With the Storm having lost three straight and four of five, taking the points provides the better value. Take Toronto +4.5.

Pick: Over 177.5

The over 177.5 is the total pick. Toronto averages 87.3 points while allowing 93.7, and its last five games have produced combined totals of 166, 161, 175, 196 and 182 points. Seattle has also been involved in several higher-scoring games, including totals of 185 against Chicago and 193 against Portland. Toronto has surrendered at least 88 points in four of its last five, while Seattle has allowed at least 82 in four straight. The number is high, but both defensive profiles leave enough opportunity for another game in the upper 170s or low 180s. Take Over 177.5.
