WNBA Picks and Predictions for Thursday, October 29, 2026

Golden State is one win away from a championship. The Valkyries have taken a 3-2 lead over the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA Finals, and Thursday's Game 6 could settle the whole thing. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 PM ET at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, with USA Network and Peacock carrying the game.

That's right, 12:30 in the afternoon. The league moved the game from its original evening slot, so anybody expecting an 8 PM tip needs to adjust.

Golden State Valkyries vs. Atlanta Dream Best Bets

Atlanta looked like it had control of this series after winning Game 3 by 26 points. Since then? Golden State has made the Dream work for practically everything. Atlanta managed 62 points Saturday and followed that with a 55-point performance Monday. You don't win many Finals games scoring like that.

The Valkyries aren't exactly lighting up the scoreboard themselves. They scored 67 and 64 in those two victories. But they're taking better care of the basketball, forcing mistakes and getting enough offense to finish games. Monday's 64-55 win was particularly revealing. Atlanta committed 15 turnovers, while Golden State had only seven.

Atlanta has to find a way to make this game faster. The Dream don't want another afternoon spent grinding through half-court possessions, taking contested shots and watching the clock disappear. Golden State, on the other hand, would probably be delighted with another game in the 60s.

Side Pick: Golden State Valkyries Moneyline

I'm staying with Golden State. The Valkyries have figured out how to make Atlanta uncomfortable, and I don't see a good reason to abandon that approach now. They've won three of five Finals games, including Game 4 on Atlanta's floor. The Dream have the home crowd and plenty of motivation, but Golden State has been the better defensive team over the last two games.

Atlanta could absolutely respond. Its Game 3 performance proved the offense is capable of taking over this matchup. Still, the Valkyries have made the better adjustments lately. I'll take Golden State to finish the series.

Total Pick: Under 145.5 Points — Target

This number is a target rather than a confirmed sportsbook total, but I like the under if 145.5 is available. The last two games produced 129 and 119 combined points. Golden State has been slowing the pace, Atlanta has struggled to find clean looks, and the pressure of an elimination game isn't likely to make either team more relaxed offensively.

The obvious concern is that Atlanta finally gets its shooting going and forces Golden State into a faster game. That happened in Game 3. But the last two contests have looked completely different, and I'm giving the defensive trend more weight.

WNBA Best Bet of the Day

Golden State Valkyries Moneyline is my preferred wager for Game 6. The Valkyries have won two straight and have held Atlanta below 65 points in both games. They've already demonstrated they can win on the Dream's home floor, and their defense has become the deciding factor in this series.
