WNBA picks for October 7, 2026 feature two semifinal Game 2 matchups, with the Atlanta Dream trying to take a 2-0 lead over the New York Liberty and the Golden State Valkyries looking to do the same against the Las Vegas Aces. Both openers were decided by double digits, but the betting markets have reacted very differently ahead of Wednesday's rematches.

The most attractive angles come from the total in New York-Atlanta and the side in Las Vegas-Golden State. Bettors looking for more daily WNBA picks can follow the full playoff board throughout the postseason, while the WNBA props page offers additional player-focused betting options.

WNBA Picks for October 7, 2026

  • New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream Best Bet: Under 170
  • Las Vegas Aces vs Golden State Valkyries Best Bet: Golden State Valkyries -1.5

New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream Picks

Atlanta leads this semifinal series 1-0 after a 92-82 Game 1 victory at State Farm Arena. The Dream are favored by 1.5 points in the rematch, with the total set at 170. The spread has tightened from Atlanta -3.5 before Game 1, while the total has dropped from roughly 173.5.

The biggest change is the absence of Allisha Gray. Atlanta's leading regular-season scorer is out with a left-hand injury suffered in Game 1, removing one of the Dream's most important two-way players from the rotation. Gray's absence does not automatically make New York the correct side, but it lowers Atlanta's offensive ceiling and creates more responsibility for Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada and DeWanna Bonner.

New York's biggest issue in the opener was not a lack of scoring talent. Sabrina Ionescu finished with 27 points and Breanna Stewart added 19, but the Liberty committed 21 turnovers. Atlanta converted those mistakes into 32 points, which allowed the Dream to take control after New York had led 40-37 at halftime.

That turnover margin is difficult to project at the same level in Game 2. The Liberty should be more deliberate with the ball, particularly when entering actions through Stewart and Jonquel Jones. Fewer live-ball mistakes would force Atlanta to create more of its offense against a set half-court defense.

The recent playoff scoring environment also supports a lower total. New York's two first-round games against Minnesota finished with 166 and 158 points, while Atlanta's two games against Washington finished with 169 and 168. Game 1 of this series reached 174, but Atlanta needed 32 points off turnovers to get to 92.

The market has already adjusted downward, so Under 170 is not as attractive as Under 173.5 would have been before the opener. Even so, Gray's absence and New York's obvious need to protect the ball create a reasonable path to a lower-scoring rematch.

The spread is less appealing. Atlanta has now beaten New York three consecutive times dating to the regular season, but the Dream are missing a major scorer and the Liberty have enough star power to respond. With both teams carrying weak regular-season ATS profiles, the total offers the cleaner betting angle.

New York Liberty vs Atlanta Dream Best Bet: Under 170

The Under requires New York to reduce the transition opportunities that fueled Atlanta's Game 1 offense. If the Liberty cut down the live-ball turnovers, the Dream will have to create more points through half-court execution without Gray.

New York has also played lower-scoring basketball throughout the postseason, and Atlanta's first-round games stayed below this number. The market move has removed some value, but 170 still leaves room for a competitive game in the mid-160s.

Prediction: Atlanta Dream 84, New York Liberty 82

Las Vegas Aces vs Golden State Valkyries Picks

Golden State leads this semifinal series 1-0 after a 71-60 victory in Game 1. The Valkyries are favored by 1.5 points for the rematch, with the total set at 156.5 after opening the series around 161.5.

Golden State's defense controlled the opener from start to finish. Las Vegas scored a season-low 60 points and shot just 33.9 percent from the field. The Valkyries also dominated the glass 52-25, limiting second chances and forcing the Aces to win through contested half-court possessions.

Gabby Williams carried the offense with 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Kiah Stokes made a major defensive impact against A'ja Wilson. Stokes grabbed 14 rebounds, blocked four shots and helped hold Wilson to 8-for-21 shooting.

Las Vegas should shoot better in Game 2. Wilson, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray give the Aces too much offensive talent to assume another 60-point performance is coming. The question is whether improved shooting will be enough to overcome Golden State's defense and rebounding at Chase Center.

Golden State's regular-season profile supports the short favorite. The Valkyries finished 25-17 ATS and were one of the league's most reliable teams against the spread. Las Vegas finished close to even, and the Aces now have to prove they can solve a defense that held them to their lowest scoring output of the season.

The total is tempting after the 131-point opener, but the market has already cut five points. Golden State's strong Under history still matters, but Las Vegas itself did not produce a positive Under trend during the regular season. With the number now at 156.5, the side provides a cleaner entry.

The strongest argument against Golden State is Las Vegas' ability to adjust. Wilson is unlikely to remain as inefficient as she was in Game 1, and the Aces have enough playoff experience to change how they attack Stokes and the Valkyries' help defense. Still, Golden State does not need another double-digit win to cover a 1.5-point spread.

Las Vegas Aces vs Golden State Valkyries Best Bet: Golden State -1.5

Golden State's Game 1 success came from repeatable strengths rather than an unsustainable shooting performance. The Valkyries defended at a high level, controlled the glass and received useful production from their bench.

Las Vegas should be more efficient offensively, but Golden State can survive that improvement if it continues winning the possession battle. At -1.5, the Valkyries only need a two-point home victory, making the spread preferable to chasing a total that has already moved sharply lower.

Prediction: Golden State Valkyries 80, Las Vegas Aces 74

Best WNBA Bets for October 7

The two strongest positions attack different parts of the market. New York-Atlanta Under 170 is built around Atlanta losing Gray, New York's need to reduce turnovers and the lower-scoring playoff environment both teams brought into the series. Golden State -1.5 is supported by the Valkyries' defense, rebounding and stronger season-long ATS profile.

Neither wager requires repeating the most extreme part of Game 1. Atlanta does not need another 32 points off turnovers for the Under to work, and Golden State does not need to hold Las Vegas to 60 points to cover a short home spread. Those are the two best WNBA betting positions on Wednesday's semifinal slate.
