Switzerland Preview

Switzerland felt it left two points on the table in its opener. Murat Yakin's side controlled possession, created numerous scoring chances, and generated 3.20 expected goals against Qatar but failed to put the match away. Breel Embolo converted an early penalty, but Switzerland's inability to finish additional opportunities allowed Qatar to steal a late equalizer. The Swiss have now drawn three of their last four matches, though the underlying performances have generally been stronger than the results suggest. Switzerland dominated large stretches against Qatar and has consistently been one of Europe's most organized international sides over recent tournaments.

Embolo remains the focal point of the attack after scoring in the opener. Granit Xhaka continues to dictate play from midfield, while Dan Ndoye and Ruben Vargas provide pace and creativity in wide areas. Defensively, Manuel Akanji anchors a back line that conceded only one shot on target against Qatar despite the disappointing result. Switzerland's biggest concern is converting chances. The team created enough opportunities to win comfortably in the opener and will look for better results against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Injuries: There are no major injury concerns reported for Switzerland entering this match.

Bosnia-Herzegovina Preview

Bosnia-Herzegovina opened the tournament with a respectable point against Canada despite being outplayed for portions of the match. Jovo Lukic capitalized on a first-half set piece to give Bosnia the lead before Canada eventually found an equalizer in the second half. Sergej Barbarez's side continues to rely heavily on tactical play and defensive discipline. Bosnia managed only 39% possession against Canada and produced less than one expected goal, but the group remained difficult to break down and nearly escaped with all three points.

Veteran captain Sead Kolasinac remains the leader of the back line and contributed an assist on Bosnia's opening goal. The midfield works hard defensively, while Lukic may receive another opportunity after taking advantage of his unexpected start in the first match. Bosnia enters in solid form overall, unbeaten in five consecutive matches, but this will represent a step up in class compared to most opponents faced during that run. The challenge will be containing Switzerland's midfield while creating enough chances to threaten on the counterattack.

Injuries: Edin Dzeko remains questionable with a shoulder injury, while Haris Tabakovic's status remains uncertain.

Switzerland vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Pick

  • Switzerland -0.5 (-180)

Switzerland was the superior side statistically in its opener and should have defeated Qatar comfortably. The Swiss controlled 68% possession, created numerous quality chances, and generated one of the strongest expected-goal performances of the opening round. Bosnia-Herzegovina earned a valuable point against Canada, but Switzerland presents a more difficult matchup. Xhaka and the Swiss midfield should control possession throughout the match, and if Embolo and company finish chances more efficiently, Switzerland has a strong opportunity to secure its first victory of the tournament.

Switzerland vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Over/Under Pick

  • Under 2.5 Goals (-135)

Bosnia-Herzegovina is likely to approach this match conservatively after earning a point in the opener. The Bosnians are comfortable defending in numbers and limiting space, while Switzerland has generally played in lower-scoring matches despite creating chances. Four of Switzerland's last five matches have produced two goals or fewer in regulation, and Bosnia's defensive toughness should keep the scoring opportunities somewhat limited. A competitive, tactical match with knockout stage implications will create another game finishing below three total goals.
