With the MLB season already underway, there is a matchup this Tuesday between two below average teams. In this matchup, there are two AL teams as the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago White Sox will face off at Camden Yards as both teams will look to start off their respective seasons on a high note.
White Sox Look To Build Of Yesterday’s Performance
The White Sox entered the 2019 season with the hopes of finishing the season with a winning record. However, the team is projected to win around 75 games this season so it is expected to remain around the .500 mark throughout the majority of the season. So far this season, the team has won nine of its first 21 games this season including a victory against the Baltimore Orioles yesterday by a score of 12-2. Although it is really early in the season, the White Sox have some young pieces that can help this team from finishing last in the division.

The Chicago White Sox are led by first baseman Jose Abreu who has struggled a bit last season. Last season, Abreu suffered a massive drop in power as he only hit 22 home runs along with 78 RBIs. This was especially surprising considering the fact that he had at least 100 RBIs in each of the previous four seasons. However, is appears that last year’s struggles have carried over as Abreu currently has a .214 batting average along with 17 RBIs through the team’s first 21 games.
Orioles Continue To Struggle
The Baltimore Orioles entered the 2019 season with hopes of massive improvement as fans hoped to see this team finish the season somewhere around a .500 record. However, the team is still projected to finish with the worst record in the AL East as the team is expected to win 59.5 games. So far this season, the team has looked as bad as advertised as it has only managed to win eight of its first 24 games.

The Baltimore Orioles are led by outfielder Trey Mancini who was one of the lone bright spots for the team last season. Last season, Mancini managed to hit 24 home runs along with 58 RBIs. However, Mancini has looked even more dialed in at the plate so far this season as he currently has a .347 batting average along with six home runs and 14 RBIs through the team’s first 24 games.
- Orioles are 13-38 in their last 51 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
- Orioles are 22-68 in their last 90 games vs. a right-handed starter.
- White Sox are 5-0 in their last 5 games with Barber behind home plate.
- White Sox are 5-2 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Although this game is in Baltimore, I still believe that Chicago is the better of these two teams. Chicago managed to win in dominating fashion yesterday while the Orioles have looked like one of the worst teams in all of baseball so far this season. I expect this game to be close throughout but I think the White Sox will do just enough to squeak out of this game with a victory.
Prediction: Chicago White Sox
Full-Game Total Pick
Since both of these teams possess below average pitching staffs, I have to lean to the over in this game. Furthermore, both teams have underrated lineups that can score at least five runs each so I think that this total is too low. I can see this game being somewhere in the realm of 7-4 so I will recommend the over in this game.
Prediction: Over 10
