Sox get back to losing
The Boston Red Sox have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2019 season, and not in a good way. They have gotten off to one of the worst starts in baseball, which was surprising for a team that won the World Series last year. But they got something going this past weekend, sweeping the first place Tampa Bay Rays. But now they are back to losing, dropping the first game of a doubleheader to the Tigers on Tuesday 7-4. Chris Sale got the start and pitched well for Boston, but got a no-decision. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings with 10 strikeouts. Xander Bogaerts went 2 for 4 with 2 HRs and 2 RBIs.
Boston averages 4.23 runs per game, which is 21st in the league. They are batting .232 as a team, 21st in the MLB. They have a slugging percentage of .385, which is 23rd overall. JD Martinez leads the Sox with an average of .350 with 4 HRs and 11 RBIs. Andrew Benintendi is hitting .282 with 2 HRs and 11 RBIs, while Xander Bogaerts is batting ,276 with 4 HRs and 12 RBIs. Moreland is batting .258 with 7 HR and 14 RBIs.
Rodriguez takes the hill for Boston Wednesday. Rodriguez is 1-2 with a 7.20 ERA. He has a WHIP of 1.65 and opponents bat .302 against him.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Take the Red Sox. Boston had been playing well despite losing the opener of the doubleheader against the Tigers. Rodriguez has been pretty bad this year, but the Red Sox have a knack for picking him up. The Sox are 5-0 in Rodriguezs last 5 Wednesday starts and 5-1 in Rodriguezs last 6 starts vs. American League Central.
Prediction: Boston -198
Full-Game Total Pick
Take the over. The Red Sox bats are starting to wake up and I expect them to get to Ross playing at home. And Sox pitcher Rodriguez has been getting pounded, so expect a lot of runs. The over is 4-0-2 in Red Sox last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 12-5-2 in their last 19 home games. Also, the over is 6-1 in Tigers last 7 road games vs. a left-handed starter and 4-1 in their last 5 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
