Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros
MLB Baseball: Tuesday, May 21st 2019 8:10 PM EST TIME
The Chicago White Sox are still trying to climb back over .500 winning percentage and they have the tall task of doing so against the Astros on Tuesday night.
White Sox Notes
With the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians basically taking over the AL Central, the White Sox have the tall task of coming up with a much-needed winning streak as they head near summer ball. The White Sox hold a 21-24 overall record and have taken on the Blue Jays and Indians only in the past two weeks. In those three series, the White Sox went 5-4 and now hit the road to take on the Astros who recently had one of the best winning streaks in baseball.

For the Chicago White Sox, it has been a rough career and beginning for starting pitcher Dylan Covey. He enters this game with a career 5-23 starting record and 5.97 ERA lifetime. This season has not been different as he holds a 0-2 record as well as 4.41 ERA. In his only three starts this season he has yet to get past the 5th inning. Expect much of the same on Tuesday.
The Houston Astros come into this new series ready for another winning streak as they saw their ten-game winning streak come to an end thanks to the hand of the Boston Red Sox. Houston might have had a slow start to the season, however, this is the true identity of the team as they showcased why they have one of the best lineups and pitching rotation in the game. During this ten game winning streak, the Astros averaged 7.9 runs per game and only allowed 2.6 runs per game.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I love this matchup here. Verlander on the mound against Convey who has struggled his whole career either starting or coming out of the bullpen. With the White Sox being 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Houston as well as 0-7 in the last 7 meetings, I’m taking the run line here.
Prediction: ASTROS -1.5
Full-Game Total Pick
Verlander has been on fire and will help keep this total from hitting the Over. Expect the Astros bats to make it close, but the Under will hit as it is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Houston as well as 16-7-1 in the last 24 meetings.
