The Colorado Rockies will be looking for another win as they host the Baltimore Orioles this Saturday. The Rockies are currently 23-26 after beating the Orioles in their last game. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Orioles are 15-36 after losing to the Rockies yesterday. Now, both teams will be looking to improve upon their respective records in this game.
Orioles Continue To Struggle
The Baltimore Orioles entered the 2019 season with hopes of massive improvement as fans hoped to see this team finish the season somewhere around a .500 record. However, the team is still projected to finish with the worst record in the AL East as the team is expected to win 59.5 games. So far this season, the team has looked as bad as advertised as it has only managed to win 15 of its first 51 games. The main reason for the team’s struggles is the team’s pitching which has been awful this season. The Orioles currently have the highest ERA in baseball and have given up the most runs by a wide margin.

The Baltimore Orioles are led by outfielder Trey Mancini who was one of the lone bright spots for the team last season. Last season, Mancini managed to hit 24 home runs along with 58 RBIs. However, Mancini has looked even more dialed in at the plate so far this season as he currently has a .300 batting average along with ten home runs and 24 RBIs through the team’s first 51 games.
Colorado Looks To Win Another Home Game
The Colorado Rockies entered the 2019 season with the hopes of returning to the MLB Postseason. According to Vegas oddsmakers, the Rockies were expected to win 84.5 games which means that this team should end the season with a winning record. However, the team started off the season extremely poorly by losing 12 of its first 15 games. Since that point, the team has been slightly better but has still lost 26 of its first 48 games. However, the team is home once again this Saturday against one of the worst teams in baseball.

The Colorado Rockies are led by third baseman Nolan Arenado who has been tremendous over the last few seasons. Last season, Arenado hit 38 home runs along with 110 RBIs as he was an MVP candidate for the majority of the season. However, Arenado is also a magician in the field as he has won the Gold Glove Award at his position every season since 2013. So far this season, he has been fantastic as he has a .325 batting average along with 13 home runs and 37 RBIs.
- Home team is 6-1 in Cederstrom’s last 7 interleague games behind home plate.
- Home team is 5-1 in Cederstrom’s last 6 Saturday games behind home plate vs. Colorado.
- Orioles are 0-4 in Cashner’s last 4 starts.
- Orioles are 1-5 in Cashner’s last 6 Saturday starts.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Overall, this game is in Colorado and the Rockies are the better of these two teams. The Orioles have looked like one of the worst teams in all of baseball so far this season while the Rockies have looked relatively average. I expect this game to be close throughout but I think the Rockies will do just enough to squeak out of this game with a victory.
Prediction: Colorado Rockies
Full-Game Total Pick
Since both of these teams possess below average pitching staffs, I have to lean to the over in this game. Furthermore, both teams have solid lineups that can score at least six runs each due to the high altitude in Colorado so I think that this total is too low. I can see this game being somewhere in the realm of 8-6 so I will recommend the over in this game.
Prediction: Over 11.5
