The Cleveland Indians will be looking for another win as they take on the Boston Red Sox this Monday. The Indians are 26-26 after losing to the Tampa Bay Rays in their last game. Meanwhile, the Boston Red Sox are 28-25 after beating the Houston Astros yesterday. Now, both teams will be looking to improve upon their respective records in this game.
Indians Look To Move Above .500
The Cleveland Indians entered the 2019 MLB season with hopes of competing for a division title once again this season. According to Vegas oddsmakers, the Indians are expected to win 90.5 games which means that this team should end the season in the playoff picture once again. However, the team has drastically underachieved this season as the team has only won 26 of its first 52 games. In addition, the team lost the last game of this series to Tampa Bay yesterday and will need to win this game to move above a .500 record.

The Cleveland Indians are led by third baseman Jose Ramirez who was unbelievable last season. Last season, Ramirez hit 39 home runs along with 105 RBIs as he was rightfully named an AL All-Star. However, Ramirez is also a fantastic contact hitter as his batting average has not been below .270 in each of the last three seasons. However, he has struggled so far this season as he only has a .197 batting average with only four home runs.
Red Sox Look To Get Another Home Win
The Boston Red Sox entered the 2019 season with the hopes of competing for a World Series title once again this season. According to Vegas oddsmakers, the Red Sox are expected to win 94.5 games which means that this team should end the season competing for a playoff spot once again. However, the team has been underwhelming so far this season as it has only won 28 of its first 53 games. The Red Sox have looked nothing like last year’s World Series champions and are currently third in the AL East division as a result. However, the Red Sox did manage to beat the Astros yesterday in the final game of that series.

The Boston Red Sox are led by outfielder Mookie Betts who was unbelievable last season. Last season, Betts hit 32 home runs along with 80 RBIs as he was rightfully named the AL MVP Award winner. However, Betts is also a fantastic contact hitter as his batting average has never been below .264 in his entire career. So far this season, Betts has eight home runs and 25 RBIs in the team’s first 53 games.
- Red Sox are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. American League Central.
- Red Sox are 6-2 in their last 8 home games vs. a right-handed starter.
- Indians are 0-4 in their last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter.
- Indians are 1-6 in their last 7 games on grass.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Simply put, Boston is the better of these two teams at this point in the season and should be able to win this game. The Red Sox have played well in the last few weeks while the Indians just have a .500 record. I expect this game to be extremely close throughout but I think the Red Sox will do just enough to squeak out of this game with a victory.
Prediction: Boston Red Sox
Full-Game Total Pick
Since both of these teams possess below average pitching staffs, I have to lean to the over in this game. Furthermore, both teams have solid lineups that can score at least five runs each so I think that this total is too low. I can see this game being somewhere in the realm of 7-5 so I will recommend the over in this game.
Prediction: Over 9.5
