The New York Yankees will be looking for another win as they host the Chicago White Sox this Thursday. The Yankees are 41-25 after losing to the Mets in their last game. Meanwhile, the White Sox are 32-34 after beating the Nationals in their last game. Now, both teams will be looking to improve upon their respective records in this game.
Yankees Continue To Roll
The New York Yankees are currently in first place in the AL East division as the team has won 41 of its first 66 games. In addition, the team has been amazing on the road this season with a 19-12 away record. For Thursday’s game, the Yankees will hand the ball to starter J.A. Happ who has been solid this season. So far this season, in his first 13 appearances, Happ is 6-3 with a 4.48 ERA. He also pitched extremely well in his last start as he went seven innings but gave up one earned run.

White Sox Look To Inch Closer To .500
The Chicago White Sox have won 32 of their first 66 games. However, the team is still in third place in the Al Central as the team has been great over the past few weeks. The team has won three of its last four games and will be looking to continue playing well in this one. Now, the White Sox will turn to Ivan Nova as the starting pitcher for this contest. He has been awful with a 3-5 record this season along with a 6.28 ERA. He went less than six innings and gave up four runs in his last start.
Eloy Jiménez absolutely CRUSHED this baseball.

The Chicago White Sox are led by first baseman Jose Abreu who has struggled a bit last season. Last season, Abreu suffered a massive drop in power as he only hit 22 home runs along with 78 RBIs. This was especially surprising considering the fact that he had at least 100 RBIs in each of the previous four seasons. However, is appears that last year’s struggles have not carried over as Abreu currently has 16 home runs with 52 RBIs through the team’s first 66 games.
White Sox are:
- 0-5 in Nova’s last 5 starts with 5 days of rest.
- 27-8 last 35 vs. a right-handed starter.
- 30-12 last 42 on grass.
- 5-0 in Happ’s last 5 starts during game 1 of a series.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Simply put, New York is the better of these two teams by a wide margin and is in much better form that the White Sox at this point in time. The Yankees are currently on a roll and are in first place in their division while the White Sox have been mediocre this season. I expect this game to be close for a little while but I think the Yankees will do just enough to get the victory.
Prediction: New York Yankees
Full-Game Total Pick
Since both of these teams possess below average pitching staffs, I have to lean to the over in this game. Nova was not great in his last start so I would not be surprised to see him struggle again in this one. Furthermore, both teams still possess very solid lineups so I can see both teams scoring at least five runs. I can see this game being somewhere in the realm of 6-4 so I will recommend the over in this game.
Prediction: Over 9.5
