The Milwaukee Brewers will be looking for another win as they host the San Francisco Giants this Friday. The Brewers are currently 47-44 after losing to the Pirates in their last game. Meanwhile, the Giants are 41-48 after beating the Cardinals in their last game. Now, both teams will be looking to improve upon their respective records in this game.

Giants Look To Get Another Road Victory

The San Francisco Giants have only won 41 of their first 89 games. However, the team has continued to improve after such an abysmal start to the season. Despite the team’s poor record, the Giants have actually been decent away from home this season which has been a pleasant surprise. Specifically, the Giants are 21-22 on the road this season and will be looking to get another road win on Friday. Now, the Giants will turn to Shaun Anderson as the starting pitcher for this contest. He has been solid this season with a 3-2 record this season along with a 4.23 ERA.

The San Francisco Giants are led by shortstop Brandon Crawford who was pretty solid last season. Last season, Crawford hit 14 home runs along with 54 RBIs. So far this season, Crawford has been awful as he only has a .223 batting average along with 28 RBIs in 80 games played. His struggles at the plate are a huge reason why the team’s offense has failed to generate any runs on a consistent basis so far this season. He will need to play a lot better if the Giants plan on winning this home game.

Brewers Look To Improve Home Record

The Milwaukee Brewers have won 47 of their first 91 games. However, the team lost each of its last two games against the Pirates and is now in second place in the NL Central division by half a game. The main reason why the Brewers have succeeded so far this season is due to the team’s solid record at home. Specifically, the Brewers have won 27 of the team’s first 45 home games this season. In addition, the Brewers should receive a big lift from the home crowd after not being able to play at home in the last seven games leading up to the All-Star Break.

The Milwaukee Brewers are led by outfielder Christian Yelich who was unbelievable last season. Last season, Yelich hit 36 home runs along with 110 RBIs as he was rightfully named the NL MVP Award winner. However, Yelich is also a fantastic contact hitter as his batting average has never been below .280 in any season in his career. Yelich is already one of the best players in baseball and he is only 27 years old. So far this season, he has a .329 batting average with 31 home runs and 67 RBIs.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

Simply put, the Brewers are the better overall team and it is not even close. The Brewers have been consistently solid this season while the team also possesses the better lineup  for this game. The Giants have been below average so far this season and I expect the team to continue struggling against the Brewers on Friday on the road. Give me the home team in this one.

Prediction: Milwaukee Brewers

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

Since both of these teams possess below average pitching staffs, I have to lean to the over in this game. Furthermore, the Giants and the Brewers have the ability to put up at least five runs in any baseball game so I think that this total is too low. I can see this game being somewhere in the realm of 6-5 so I will recommend the over in this game.

Prediction: Over
