Our Deep-3 picks are 8-1 this week and we’ve got the latest version right here:
Where: Vivint Smart Home Arena, Salt Lake City, Utah
When: Friday, January 11, 2019 10:00 pm Eastern
The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Salt Lake City and a Friday night matchup with the Utah Jazz. The Lakers have won two consecutive games and the Jazz have won three of their last five. This should be a fun Western Conference matchup and a great way to end a great night of NBA action.
Kyle Kuzma Goes Off Against the Pistons
LeBron James has missed the past eight games and has already been ruled out of Friday night’s game with the Jazz. The Lakers are 3-5 in James absence but played a strong ballgame on Wednesday night, defeating a feisty Detroit Pistons team, 113-100. Kyle Kuzma scored 41 points and Michael Beasley came off the bench to score 19 points and drop four dimes for a Lakers side that shot 56 percent from the field, 34 percent from three point land and 72 percent from the charity stripe in their huge home victory over the Pistons.

Aside from James, the Lakers aren’t reporting any injuries for their Friday night contest with the Jazz.
The Lakers are scoring an average of 112 points and allowing an average of 110 points per game this season. Los Angeles is shooting 47 percent from the floor, 34 percent from beyond the arc and 68 percent from the charity stripe. The Lakers are averaging a total of 46 rebounds, 24 assists and 15 rebounds per game this season.
Utah Finally Reaches .500 This Season
The Utah Jazz beat the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night to reach .500 for the first time in a long time. The Jazz have played more road games than anyone else and I’m sure Utah was happy to return home, play Orlando, and get a much-needed victory. Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points with seven dimes and Joe Ingles chipped in with 16 points and seven assists to lead the Jazz to their twenty-first victory of the season. Utah shot 48 percent from the floor, 36 percent from long distance and 85 percent from the charity stripe in their 106-93 victory over Orlando on Wednesday night.
📹| “This group, what they did, given the fact that we were down and the way we started, is pretty impressive. This is a heck of a win for our team."

Ricky Rubio and Dante Exum are both listed as out indefinitely with leg injuries. Rubio leads the Jazz in assists and is third in scoring while Exum is Rubio’s backup and averages seven points and two assists. That leaves Raul Neto as the only true point guard on the Jazz roster.
Utah scores an average of 107 points and allows an average of 105 points per game this season. The Jazz are shooting 46 percent from the field, 34 percent from long range and 72 percent from the charity stripe. Utah averages a total of 44 rebounds, 24 assists and 15 turnovers per game this season.
- Under is 5-0 in Jazz last 5 vs. Western Conference.
- Under is 8-1 in Jazz last 9 games playing on 1 days rest.
- Under is 4-0 in Lakers last 4 vs. NBA Northwest.
- Under is 4-1 in Lakers last 5 road games.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
This is a tough line to play, but I’m going to do so anyhow. Utah is solid at home and Salt Lake City is a difficult place to play when visiting teams are healthy, let alone missing the best player in the game. The Jazz are also missing two point guards, but they seemed to figure things out. I expect Mitchell and Gobert to hammer the Lakers on Friday night, and I will play the Jazz!!
Prediction: Utah -8 Points
Full-Game Total Pick
I would be surprised if these two sides score a combined 210 points maximum. Utah plays very stout defense, and actually, so does the Lakers and I expect a physical, low scoring game with Utah covering the spread and these two sides finishing under the total. I’m going under on Friday!!
Prediction: Under 215 Points
