Lakers defense great in victory against Spurs
On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the San Antonio Spurs 93-81. Los Angeles jumped out to a 49-38 lead at the half and they remained in control. Brandon Ingram led the Lakers with 26 points on 11-of-21 shooting. Lonzo Ball had 18 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Both teams shot 41 percent from the field. The Lakers out-rebounded the Spurs 47-45 in the contest. Larry Nance Jr. finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 10 points apiece in the win. San Antonio committed 21 turnovers and Los Angeles had 16.
Mavericks top Hornets
The Dallas Mavericks beat the Charlotte Hornets 115-111 on Wednesday night. Harrison Barnes led the Mavericks with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Yogi Ferrell had 22 points on 7-of-10 from 3-point range. Charlotte shot 51 percent from the field and Dallas shot 47 percent. The Hornets out-rebounded the Mavericks 43-39 in the contest. Dennis Smith Jr. wound up with 15 points and six assists in the win. Dirk Nowitzki added 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting in 23 minutes. The Mavericks had no answer for Kemba Walker who had 41 points on 16-of-28 shooting. Charlotte had 11 turnovers and Dallas committed eight.
