The Utah Jazz have pushed their way towards one of the best records in the Western Conference behind their nine-game winning streak. The Jazz are coming off a double-digit win over the Washington Wizards.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets have tittered around the .500 mark throughout much of the year. The Nets are heading into the contest after a convincing win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Jazz hitting all cylinders offensively

The Jazz had a rough start to the season through the first few weeks, but they have managed through it to push their way towards one of the best records in the stacked Western Conference. That has seen them experience much success over the last few weeks that has pushed them to a nine-game winning streak heading into Tuesday's contest. Utah has had tremendously strong play from their core group that has nudged them forward to one of the best marks in the league. That has seen some increased production from their offense that has pushed them up to 109.4 points per contest on 47.0 percent shooting from the floor.

Although they haven't played the strong schedule of opponents during their nine-game winning streak, they have certainly taken care of opponents that they are largely supposed to do. That includes topping more than 120 points five times during that stretch that pushed them towards this hot stretch. That has seen offseason addition Bojan Bogdanovic continue to fit in well as one of their top scoring options as he has tallied at least 14 points in each game during that span. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell has continued to be their top scorer this season averaging a team-best 24.2 points per contest. Mitchell is dealing with an illness, but even he's not able to play, the Jazz are playing at another level that many had expected of them heading into this year.

Nets hoping Kyrie Irving's return can provide spark

The 2019-20 season has been filled with plenty of ups and downs for the Nets have seen them struggle to get back over the .500 mark. The team has been plagued by injuries and inconsistent play through the first half of the year. Brooklyn has had their struggles in fitting the balance between that over the last several weeks, especially with All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving being out of the mix due to a bothersome shoulder injury that many had pondered if he needed surgery to correct the issue. They have been able to hover around the .500 mark that has been led by point guard Spencer Dinwiddie heading the charge as the leading scorer and playmaker averaging 22.1 points and 6.4 assists per contest.

Dinwiddie has been playing at an All-Star level that has kept Brooklyn still in the back end of the playoff picture throughout the process. At the same time, they welcomed back Irving back to the mix on Sunday as he was the guiding force that helped them cruise past the Hawks. Irving was highly efficient in the contest as he had 21 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the floor in just 20 minutes played. The Nets will need Irving to be a big factor offensively in what's likely to be another game with limited playing time. That could be too tall of a task to ask from him to do against a hot team that has honed in defensively on Tuesday night.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

This is one of the more intriguing matchups on Tuesday, but it's difficult to pick against the red-hot Jazz, who have continued to steamroll past opponents during their current strong stretch. That has been led by the play of their core group that is hitting all cylinders, which has been most encouraged by how they have been performing offensively. That was one area that was hoped to see improvement after their busy offseason, which is starting to show to a higher degree. The return of Irving is significant for the Nets, but not enough to push them past Utah on their home floor.

Prediction: Utah

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

At that same juncture, the Jazz's offense should be the leading factor in the contest as they have hit another gear over the last several games. That has seen them score north of 120 points in five out of their last nine contests overall. They have a favorable matchup against a Nets team that is allowing 111.0 points per contest that has allowed north of 110 points fourth times in the last five contests. Although the Jazz are one of the league's top defensive teams, the return of Irving should provide the Nets with some sort of offensive boost, while the Jazz are coming off giving up 116 points to the Wizards.
