We have a non-conference NBA contest to consider when the Milwaukee Bucks meet the Utah Jazz for what could be a highly entertaining NBA basketball game. The Bucks are 6-2 with a 4-1 road record this season. Utah is 5-3 overall but has a perfect 4-0 mark at Vivint Smart Home Arena, one of the most difficult places for a road team to play.
Bucks Four Game Winning StreakMilwaukee hasn’t looked as dominant as they were last season on either side of the floor. Maybe they miss Malcolm Brogdon but something isn’t quite right with the Bucks. They are riding a four-game winning streak and have beaten the Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Los Angeles Clippers. Maybe that dominance is coming back and they’ll need to be strong in order to win against Utah Friday night.
Milwaukee snuck past the Los Angeles Clippers this past Wednesday night by a score of 129-124. Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the Bucks with 38 points, 16 rebounds with nine assists in a game that was missing Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, who was given the night off. George Hill came off the bench to score 24 points with three rebounds. Milwaukee shot 42 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from long range and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe. The Bucks were outrebounded 51-50 and committed 15 turnovers against the Clippers.
Jazz Defeat 76ersUtah has won three of it's last five and just snapped a two losing streak and will enter Friday coming off a 106-104 home victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Jazz has recent wins over the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers with losses to the Sacramento Kings and the Clippers making these past five games extremely educational. Anyone who has written off Utah as a contender isn’t watching much basketball because the Jazz might be better than ever.
Bojan Bogdanovic currently ranks 6th in the NBA in points scored in the first quarter with 7.4, just behind Anthony Davis, Karl Anthony-Towns, Jimmy Butler, James Harden & Steph Curry.#TimeToLearn | @wgu pic.twitter.com/iqg8TZcCsx— Utah Jazz (@utahjazz) November 7, 2019
Donavan Mitchell scored 24 points with eight assists and five rebounds to lead the Jazz past a pesky 76ers side by a score of 106-104. Bogdan Bogdanovic scored points with six boards along with five assists and Joe Ingles added 16 points off the bench to lead the Jazz to its fourth home win of the season. Utah shot 46.1 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from downtown and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line. The Jazz won the battle of the board 54-53 and committed 13 turnovers.
- Home team is 17-7 ATS in the last 24 meetings.
The supporting trends for this game found on Covers.com, are
- Bucks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game.
- Bucks are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I don't make a habit out of playing home dogs getting three points or less and I'm not going against that here. Utah is a better team and they will take it to the Bucks. Utah rarely loses at home and is the better shooting team and probably the better defensive side. Plus they are undefeated at home coming off a big win whereas Milwaukee barely beat a Clipper side without Kawhi Leonard.
I will take the points and play Utah to cover the spread.
Prediction: Jazz +2
Full-Game Total Pick
Utah plays at a slow pace and is the best defensive team in the NBA. Milwaukee plays a bit faster and they aren't a very good shooting team and they are playing on the road. Where Utah will dominate is on the defensive glass and that is going to prevent some second-chance point opportunities.
I will play the UNDER in this matchup.
Prediction: Under 218
