NBA: Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. ET

The Minnesota Timberwolves hit the road to take on the Washington Wizards for a Tuesday night contest. On Nov. 28, the Wizards beat the Timberwolves 92-89. Otto Porter Jr. led the Wizards with 22 points and eight rebounds. Minnesota has lost three of their last four games. The Timberwolves are sixth in the league in scoring (109.7 ppg), and 16th in defense (107.1 ppg). With Jimmy Butler (knee) out, the Timberwolves have relied heavily on star center Karl-Anthony TownsTowns is averaging 20.5 points and 12.2 rebounds. Washington has lost four of their last six games. The Wizards are averaging 107.2 points (11th) and allowing 105.8 points (15th). Bradley Beal is averaging 23.2 points and 4.6 assists.

Timberwolves top Warriors

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Golden State Warriors 109-103 on Sunday afternoon. Minnesota used a 25-19 fourth quarter to win the game. Towns led the Timberwolves with 31 points and 16 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins went for 23 points and five rebounds in the win. Minnesota shot 46 percent from the field and Golden State shot 41 percent. Jeff Teague wound up with 10 points and 10 assists. Taj Gibson added 11 points and 13 rebounds. The Timberwolves did a good job in defending Kevin Durant who had 39 points but he shot 11-of-32 from the field. Golden State committed 13 turnovers and Minnesota had 10.

Wizards fall to Heat

On Saturday night, the Washington Wizards lost 129-102 to the Miami Heat. Miami used a 62-48 first half to take command of the game. The Wizards were never really in this one thanks to a poor defensive effort. Backup shooting guard Jodie Meeks led the Wizards with 23 points in 28 minutes. Beal was contained to 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting. The Heat shot 59 percent from the field and the Wizards shot 44 percent. Miami out-rebounded Washington 42-40 in the contest. Otto Porter Jr. finished with 10 points and five rebounds in the loss. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 11 points and six rebounds off the bench. Washington committed 15 turnovers and Miami had 10. The teams split their four meetings this season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are:

  • 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win.
  • 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.
  • 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.

The Washington Wizards are:

  • 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game.
  • 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Tuesday games.

The Wizards don’t have an answer for Towns down low but it won’t be enough for Minnesota. Look for Beal and Porter to play well in a narrow Wizards win.
