Indiana Pacers vs. Portland Trailblazers
Where and when: Moda Center, Portland, Oregon, Monday, 10:35 pm EST
The Indiana Pacers will travel to the Great Northwest to the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, in which to battle the surging Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night at 10:35 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Pacers currently sit comfortably within the second-place slot within the Central Division. Nonetheless, they were not able to extend their two-game winning streak as they fell on the road to the Denver Nuggets by only two points in their last time out. A Paul Millsap floater with only 7 seconds left proved to be the difference as he ended with 15 points total for the game ( 9 in the 4th quarter) while grabbing 13 rebounds. This loss can certainly be a bit deflating for the Pacers as they were up by as many as 18 points at one point in the contest.
On the other hand, the Portland Trail Blazers have worked themselves up to the second-place slot within the Northwest standings, just ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder. They were on a three-game winning streak before a meeting with the San Antonio Spurs on the road as the Trailblazers not only lost the game, but, CJ McCollum was also injured in this contest as well. Team officials classified the injury as a knee injury with his status being uncertain for this matchup.
Thirty-four from Lilliard not enough as Trailblazers halt win-streak
Damian Lillard, however, attempted to keep the team competitive in their contest versus the Spurs as he ended with 34 points on the night despite struggling from three-point range in going 3-10. Jusuf Nurkic also pumped in 24 points along with grabbing 24 rebounds in the losing effort. On the other hand, DeMar DeRozan led San Antonio with 21 points while LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 12 points along with eight rebounds. In all, the Spurs used a big fourth quarter on both ends in which to limit the Trailblazers to only 41% shooting on the night along with a mere 25% from long range.
As stated, the headline for the night was the loss of CJ McCollum to a knee injury. With Portland being in the thick of things within their respective division, they could certainly use his 21 points per game. However, as stated, he remains to be questionable versus a Portland team to which they struggled against in their last outing. Indiana could muster only 93 points in this contest on just 41% shooting from the floor as a currently injured Victor Oladipo led the team with 21 points. On the other hand, Darren Collison along with Thaddeus Young chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively.

The Trailblazers, on the other hand, shot at 48% from the floor as McCullum led the team with 17 points along with six rebounds. Zach Collins along with Damian Lillard also poured in 17 and 16 points as well in the win. It will be fair to note that the Pacers have dropped four straight road games entering this contest with Portland.
On the other hand, after having eight of their last 10 games away from the Moda Center, the Blazers will certainly enjoy some home cooking as they will begin a four-game homestand on Monday night. Most importantly, they will certainly be looking to get back on the winning track as soon as possible as Oklahoma City continues to nip at their heels for second place within the division.
Nuggets hang tough in win over Pacers
After a first quarter which saw the Indiana Pacers go up by 11 points versus the Denver Nuggets on the road, the home team fought back soon after as they outscored the visitors by a margin of 77-64 for the remainder of the game en route to the victory.
The Pacers had five double-digit scorers on the night led by Collison and Young with 18 and 17 points, while Bojan Bogdanovic along with Domantas Sabonis chipped in 16 points apiece in the slim defeat. Young also recorded a double-double on the night as he pulled down 10 rebounds.

However, Paul Millsap and the Jazz hit some critical buckets coming down the stretch for the Nuggets, which allowed them to seal a momentum-building win, in the end.
In fact, this has been the mantra for the Pacers on the road recently as they have simply not been able to get it done, particularly on the offensive end, during this time. In all, Indiana is averaging only 98 points per game in their last five, overall. Nonetheless, the Pacers continue to possess a top-five defense within the NBA which only allows just 44% shooting for 103 points per outing to opponents.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Look for Portland to begin their home stand on a winning note versus the Indiana Pacers as I do not happen to believe that Indiana will have the consistency on the offensive end in which to keep pace with this Blazers team. The Trailblazers have scored at least 120 points in three of their last four outings. And while McCollum may not suit up for this contest, look for Portland to push the pace on offense to catch Indiana on its heels on defense to pick up a victory.
Prediction: Pick: Portland Trail Blazers -195
Full-Game Total Pick
The under has certainly been the play in the majority of games for both teams, lately. In fact, it has been the result in the last three outings, overall, for the Trailblazers while being the play in the last six games for the Pacers. Look for the defense for Indiana to keep them competitive, yet they will fall, yet again. Nonetheless, the under will be the strong play.
Prediction: Pick: Under 212.5
Full-Game Prop Bet
While I happen to believe that the Trailblazers, on the strength of Lillard’s play, will squeak out a slim victory in this contest, look for the Pacers to also remain in this game till the end. As stated, McCollum continues to be questionable with a knee injury and is expected to be out of the lineup for quite some time. Expect for Portland to struggle without his presence in this game.
Prediction: Pick: Indiana Pacers +4.5
Half-Time Side Pick
Portland will take a lead into the half thanks to effective performances by Lillard along with Nurkic. Also, look for the defense for Portland to also step up in which to neutralize an inconsistent bunch for Indiana. In all, look for the home team to cover the small spread at the break.
Prediction: Pick: Portland Trail Blazers -2.5
Half-Time Total Bet
Look for the under to be the play in what will be a low-scoring yet competitive affair throughout. And while the defense for the Trailblazers have improved lately, the unit for Indiana continues to rank as one of the best in the league. In all, look for the total to not be surpassed at the conclusion of the first half.
Prediction: Pick: Under 109.5
Half-Time Prop Prediction
Portland will indeed cash in on the money line at the break as they will go on a nice run to end the first half in which to maintain a lead advantage. Of course, the Pacers will not give up easily and will certainly hang around; Yet, Portland’s efficiency on the offensive end will be a strong reason as to why the home team will go up at the half.
Prediction: Pick: Portland Trail Blazers -165
