Milwaukee Bucks vs. Detroit Pistons
NBA: Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 8:00 PM EST
The Bucks have won the first two games of this series and they have won both games in blowouts. They have scored at least 120 in both of the wins while holding the Pistons to under 100 points in each game. Milwaukee has played great on both sides of the ball in the series and including this series they have won all five games facing Detroit this season.
The Pistons have their backs against the wall in this series losing the first two games badly, but they are at home in this game to turn things around. On the season, the team has been led by a defense that ranks 7th in the league giving up an average of 107.3 ppg, but they have given up 120 and 121 points, respectively, in the two games in the series. Blake Griffin leads the team in scoring and he has missed the two games in this series with a knee injury and is listed as day-to-day for this game.
The Bucks are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six games facing the Pistons.
Great all-around game
In Game 2 in Milwaukee the Bucks beat the Pistons 120-99 where they played a great all-around game. They broke the game open in the 3rd quarter outscoring Detroit by 18 points and they shot a solid 52.2% from the floor while holding the Pistons to 37.4% shooting. Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, and Giannis Antetokounmpo all went for at least 24 points while no other player for Milwaukee went for double digits and the Greek Freak also had 12 rebounds.

Antetokounmpo has totaled 49 points and 29 rebounds in the two games in the series and Middleton and Bledsoe combined for 29 points in the Game 1 win before combining for 51 points in Game 2.
Milwaukee has played killer D in the two games in the series now allowing Detroit to shoot over 38% from the field in each of the two games. This season the Bucks are 27-14 on the road and they are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 road games.
Giving it up in the 3rd quarter
The Pistons were up a point at the half in Game 2 before being outscored by 18 points in the 3rd quarter where they only scored 17 points. Andre Drummond had 18 points and 16 boards for Detroit shooting over 50% from the floor and Reggie Jackson and Luke Kennard combined for 37 points on 13/29 shooting with no other Detroit player going for double figures. The Pistons have to get back to playing good D, as they are not a high scoring team only ranking 25th in the league in ppg and this is especially the case if Griffin (24.5 ppg) cannot go. Thon Maker has really struggled in the series going for 10 points on 4/19 shooting in the two games.
If Griffin cannot go again some other players have to step up in the scoring department and no player off the bench scored in double figures in the bad Game 2 loss. On the season Detroit is 26-15 at home and while the team is 11-3 ATS in their last 14 home games they have failed to cover the spread in seven of their last eight games overall.
The Detroit Piston are:
- 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall
- 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss
- 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points
The Milwaukee Bucks are:
- 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win
- 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 road games
- 22-10-1 ATS in their last 33 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Griffin is a question mark for this game, but even if he does go have to go with the Bucks in this game. They have played great in the series in two blowout wins and they were 13 games over .500 on the road this season. The Greek Freak and company will have another great game on both sides of the ball and they will win Game 3, cover the spread, and take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
Prediction: PICK: Bucks
Full-Game Total Pick
While the total for Game 2 went Over the total has gone Under in five of the last seven games between these teams in Detroit. Look for that trend to continue in this game. At home, the Pistons will play much better defense, but they will still struggle to score. In a lower scoring game, Detroit will still lose pretty badly and the total will go Under.
Prediction: PICK: Under
