Wright State Raiders (11-6, 8-7 ATS, 7-8 O/U) at Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix (10-6 SU, 7-7 ATS, 6-8 O/U)
NCAAB: Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET
The Line: Green Bay -5
Wright State had won two in a row before a loss in their last game and they are sitting at 2-2 in Horizon League play. While they have one more win on the season than Green Bay the Phoenix are undefeated in conference play (4-0). The Raiders are not a high scoring team and they do not have a great defense, but they are pretty good on both ends of the floor and they have balance. The Raiders have won four of their eight home games this season.
Green Bay is off to a great start at 4-0 in conference play and they are hot in general winners of their last six games. They have been lighting it up as of late on the offensive end of the floor and overall they rank a legit 46th in the nation averaging 80.7 ppg. They will have to score to win, as they have struggled on D this season. The Phoenix are 5-1 at home this season.
A tale of two halves
In Wright State’s last game they lost to Youngstown State where they outscored them by 14 points in the first half and then fell apart in the 2nd getting outscored by 19 points. For the game the Raiders did not shoot the ball well with a FG% of 37.3% while Youngstown State shot 47.7%. The Raiders had seven more offensive boards and only one more turnover, but they could not score or play D in the 2nd half. Every single WSU starter scored at least 10 points, but they only got a total of four points from the bench. Steven Davis was the high scorer for the team with 19 points, but was only 6/18 from the floor and he missed six of his eight 3-pointers. Mark Alstork (18.8 ppg) leads the team in scoring, but is only shooting 38.3% from the field and he has really been struggling as of late.
Solid night shooting for 6th straight win
Green Bay beat Northern Kentucky 80-71 for their 6th win in a row and they had a solid shooting night with a FG% of 49.2%. They held NKU to 41.7% shooting and one of the main reasons they won is they forced 19 turnovers while they only had seven. The Phoenix got great bench play in the game with three players scoring at least 10 points while only two starters went for double figures. Charles Cooper and Trevor Anderson are the two leading scorers for a deep Green Bay team. They are also balanced on the boards with four of the five top scorers averaging over four rebounds per game.
The Wright State Raiders are:
- 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight up loss
- 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Horizon League
The Wisconsin Green Bay Phoenix are:
- 14-3-2 ATS in their last 19 vs. Horizon League
- 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games
Green Bay is red-hot and they have covered the spread in four of their last five games against Wright State. The Phoenix will keep flying high at home, as they will win and cover the spread.
PICK: Wisconsin Green Bay -5
I dig every sport and the NFL is my favorite. My team is the Redskins and my 2nd favorite is whoever is playing the Cowboys! I am a great handicapper and if you don’t believe me just ask. I don’t just write about betting on games I actually bet on them and I have done well, which is why it is a good idea to follow my picks.
