VCU 3-1 in A 10
The VCU Rams have made a great start to conference play this season. In their first four A 10 games, they have won three of them by decent margins and lost the other by six points. In their previous game, VCU beat Duquesne 78-67.
Jonathan Williams scored 21 points, while Justin Tillman had 10 points to go with his 17 rebounds. Issac Vann scored 15 points. The Rams owned the glass, putting up 50 rebounds to Duquesne’s 31.
Efficiency: Having offensive numbers that are in the top 100 in the country isn’t too bad. They are ranked 99th in the country with an average of 78.1 points per game.
Dayton back to even 0.500
The Dayton Flyers lost two conference games before putting up a morale-boosting 87-81 win against the Richmond Spiders. They are now 2-2 in A 10 play, and 8-8 for the season.
Josh Cunningham added 20 points, 8 of 8 from the floor and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. Trey Landers had 18 points, while Darrell Davis pitched in with 17 points. The Flyers had a hot-shooting night, making 63% of their shots. The Spiders made just 25 of 61, 41%.
Efficiency: Middling on both ends of the court. Offensively, they average 71.6 points per game, tied for 246th in the country. They also allow 70.7 points a game.
VCU Rams are:
- 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games.
- 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
- 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Dayton Flyers are:
- 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 Friday games.
The Rams have had quite a good season to date, but the Flyers aren’t too bad. They may not be able to win too many games, especially in conference play, but they can certainly compete. And this should be one such encounter.
