This A 10 battle features a team with an undefeated conference record and a team that is winless in conference. Dayton won their fifth in a row when they beat George Washington 72-66. UMass dropped below .500 losing their third straight game last time out. The Minutemen were taken down by St. Louis 65-62. Both team are 6-9 ATS this season and Dayton will hold an edge being at home where they are 8-1 on the year. UMass has won six of the last ten meetings between these two teams including the last three in a row.
Dayton Look to Stay Hot
The Flyers won their fifth in a row when they came from behind against George Washington. Dayton found themselves down by 10 heading into halftime but completely flipped the switch in the second. They outscored George Washington 42-26 in the second half to take home a six-point win. Both teams hit 10 three’s and grabbed 35 rebounds but Dayton held the edge from the foul line and from the field. The Flyers shot 47.2% from the field and outscored the Colonials 12-8 at the charity stripe. Jordan Davis averages 10 points on the season but he went for 25 in this one. He finished 9-15 from the field and 7-11 from three-point range. Davis was just one of two Flyers in double-figures but his effort was enough to lead his team to victory.

Dayton had a streak of four straight 20-win seasons snapped last year when they finished with just 14. They are back on track this year and using a winning streak to do so. They started out the season 5-5 but have won their last five games to build a cushion. That includes their first two games in conference play. The Flyers are averaging 80.8 points per game during this win streak. That is five points higher than their season average. They are allowing 67.6 points per game to opponents.
UMass Falls Below Equator
UMass lost their third in a row to fall below .500 on the season. St. Louis took a seven point lead at halftime. The Minutemen tried to climb back in the second half but did not have enough to grab the lead. UMass shot 50% from the field compared to 39.3% by St. Louis and held them to just 2-17 from three-point range. They could not pick up a win thanks to 18 turnovers and committing 25 fouls that led to 19 points at the free throw line by St. Louis. Luwane Pipkins led three double-figures scorers for the Minutemen. He finished with 18 points.

The Minutemen are 0-2 in conference and sit two games behind Dayton. This is an important game moving forward for them but they are up against a lot on the road. UMass has not finished a season above .500 since the 2014-2015 season. It is a feat they are trying to accomplish this season but it will take some doing. Pipkins leads the team with 19.2 points per game. He has been held under 10 points in just one game and has scored 30 twice including a high of 36 in a loss to Harvard.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
UMass is on the road in this one against a superior team but they should be able to keep the game close. This is not to say they will win outright but they will be underdog and should be able to cover the spread. The Minutemen have won the last three meetings against Dayton so they have had their number lately and know what they like to do. Dayton is playing good basketball as of late but they might be overlooking UMass in this one which could lead the game to being closer than people think.
Full-Game Total Pick
Dayton is averaging 80 points per game over their win streak. Both teams have hit nine overs this season. Dayton has hit seven in their last 10 games. Teams like to get out fast in this match up. At home, Dayton will look to start fast and the Minutemen must be able to score to keep up. They should be able to accomplish that which makes this over easy to hit.
