The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Take Iona in this one to cover. These are two struggling teams, to put it bluntly. Marist is ranked No. 339 in the Kenpom power rankings, which makes them one of the worst 15 teams in Division 1. Iona is not much better at No. 252. Iona doesn't have a great record, but they have scored some decent wins, beating a good Rider team on the road -- a team which destroyed Marist at home. They also hung in there with St. Peter's -- a team that beat up on Marist. It's going to be a long season for Marist. The Gaels have had a slew of tough losses this year so they'll take advantage of this golden opportunity against a lesser team to get a win.
Full-Game Total Pick
Take the over here. These are not good defensive teams. Iona, in particular, has a pretty porous defense, ranked about No. 300 in defensive efficiency. Opponents shoot a robust 53 percent against them. Marist is not a good offensive team, but against a defense like Iona, they'll be able to score more than their season average. As the over-under is typically set on season averages, look for this one to be in the over. Iona likes to push the pace as they rank about No. 136 in pace of play, so they'll likely set the tempo. Marist is not a great defensive team either, ranking about No. 200 in defensive efficiency, so don't expect much resistance.
