Two Big Ten powerhouses collide when the #8 Michigan State Spartans travel to Columbus and a matchup with the #14 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The Spartans are 3-0 in conference play and the Buckeyes are 2-0 in the Big Ten and would love to win this game in front of the home faithful on Saturday.
Langford Doubtful for Saturday
The Spartans are off to a flying start to their 2019 season; they are 12-2 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten conference play. Wednesday night they hammered Northwestern behind junior forward Nick Ward and his 21 points and seven rebounds. Michigan State shot 58 percent from the field, 41 percent from long range and a pitiful 53 percent from the free throw line. The Spartans win the battle of the boards, 48-25, dropped 28 dimes and committed 14 turnovers in their 81-55 victory over Northwestern.

Joshua Langford has found his way onto the Spartans injury report for Saturday’s matchup and is currently considered doubtful with an ankle injury. Langford is the Spartans third leading scorer and his presence will surely be missed.
Michigan State scores an average of 87 points and allows an average of 67 points per game. The Spartans are shooting 50 percent from the floor, 40 percent from long range and 70 percent from the free throw line. MSU averages a total of 44 rebounds, 22 assists and 13 turnovers per game this season.
Buckeyes Undefeated in Big Ten Play
The Buckeyes have been solid this season and find themselves with a 12-1 record overall and are currently 2-0 in Big Ten play. They have won five straight and their last Big Ten game was a December fifth victory over Illinois. Senior guard Keyshawn Woods came off the bench to score 18 points and snared four boards in the Buckeyes 77-67 road victory over the Fighting Illini. Ohio State shot 47 percent from the floor, 35 percent from long range and 71 percent from the charity stripe in their 10 point victory over Illinois.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
As much as the Spartans will miss Langford, they still have a fantastic team and I see Cassius Winston stepping up in a big way on Saturday. The Spartans are the better shooting team, better rebounding team and the better coached team. Michigan State has also played a much more difficult schedule and I see them winning in Columbus on Saturday.
Prediction: Michigan State Money Line
Full-Game Total Pick
I don’t know what the total is going to be, but I see two teams who know how to limit points playing at noon on a Saturday. Both squads play exceptional defense but I think the Spartans are the better defensive school. I believe this game will stay under 140 points and I will be playing the under at 140 points or more on Saturday.
