Oregon State hosts Oklahoma Tuesday in a key early-season matchup as part of the Phil Knight (PK) Invitational. Oregon State, of the Pac-12, is 2-0, while Oklahoma, of the Big 12, is also unbeaten at 2-0. These two teams haven't played since 2000. Tipoff is on Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. ET at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.
Oklahoma gets win over Big Ten foeLon Kruger's Oklahoma Sooners are off to a 2-0 start and already have a good win under their belt. On Saturday they won at Minnesota 71-62. They overcame a 6 point halftime deficit to win going away. Big 12 preseason all-Conference forward Brady Manek led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Kristian Doolittle added 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Wichita State transfer Austin Reaves had 11 points, 6 boards, and 4 assists.

The defense was excellent as they held the Golden Gophers to 39 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from three-point land. They also created 13 turnovers and outrebounded Minnesota 42-37. The Sooners were picked to be in the middle of the pack in the Big-12 in preseason polls, but so far they look like a team that could cause some trouble in the conference.
Oregon State tops Iowa StateThe Oregon State Beavers are also 2-0 on the year and they have a quality win under their belt, beating Iowa State 80-74 on Saturday. Tres Tinkle, the preseason player of the year in the Pac-12, had 27 points to lead the Beavers. He made 6 three-pointers and grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. He showed why he is considered an all-America candidate. Tinkle made two huge three-pointers down the stretch to ice it.
Kylor Kelley tossed in 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while Zach Reichle added 11 points and 7 boards. Ethan Thompson had 9 points and made 3 threes. Oregon State made 12 3s in the game and shot 57 percent from beyond the arc. Overall, they shot 49 percent from the field. The Beavers also out rebounded the Cyclones 39-34.

Take the Beavers here. This should be a good one. two teams that are off to 2-0 starts. They are also two teams predicted to be in the middle of the pack of their respective conferences. But both, I think, have the talent to break out into the top tier. Both have impressive wins so far this year. I just go with the home team here. Plus, the Beavers are a better shooting team, led by Tinkle. Their ability to hit the three will set them apart all season and win them games -- and I think it will in this one.
Prediction: Oregon State
Full-Game Total Pick
Take the under. These teams feature deliberate offenses. They win games with execution in the half court offense and don't typically push the pace. they also feature big men as their star players in Manek and Tinkle. It should be fun to watch these two do battle as their games are similar. I don't see a high-scoring affair here, so I'm going with the under. The under is 5-1 in the Sooners last 6 overall and 4-1 in their last 5 games following a straight up win. Also, the under is 5-2 in the Beavers last 7 non-conference games and 20-9-1 in their last 30 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.
