Pacific Tigers vs. Nevada Wolf Pack

Where: Lawlor Events Center, Reno, NV

When: Friday, November 9, 10:00 PM. ET.

The high-flying Nevada Wolf Pack will be going for their second consecutive win when they take on the Pacific Tigers on Friday night.

Tigers Going For Upset Win

The Tigers won their first game of the season, taking care of SIU-Edwardsville on the road 74-65. They will be going for their second road win in a row and an upset over the seventh-ranked Wolf Pack on Friday night.

Pacific did a great job on the defensive end, holding the Cougars to 39.3 percent shooting from the field and 25.8 percent from three-point range. They also did a great job on the glass, grabbing 43 rebounds while the Cougars finished with 25.

The team will face a tougher defensive challenge against the Wolf Pack, who are a very good offensive team, but if they play with the same intensity, they will have a chance to pull off the upset.

The Tigers also played well offensively, shooting 49 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range.

Lafayette Dorsey led the way for Pacific with 18 points and three assists. Anthony Townes finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Roberto Gallinat added 13 points and five rebounds for the Tigers, who finished the game with three players scoring in double figures.

If the Tigers shoot the ball as well as they did against the Cougars, they will cause problems for the Wolf Pack on the defensive end.

Wolf Pack Trying To Take Advantage Of Home Stand

The Wolf Pack will play their first five games at home and will try to take advantage of playing in front of their fans when they face a Pacific team trying to get their first signature win of the young season.

Nevada took care of business in their season-opener, defeating BYU 86-70. Even though they aren’t known for their defense, the Wolf Pack held the Cougars to 37.7 percent shooting from the field and 19.4 percent from three-point range. Head coach Eric Musselman will be hoping his players maintain their defensive intensity when they play the Tigers.

The Wolf Pack were one of the best offensive teams in the country last season and they have picked up where they left off last year. Despite shooting 37 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range, the Wolf Pack managed to score 86 points because they attacked the basket when their shots weren’t falling and were rewarded with 39 free throws.

Jordan Caroline led the way for Nevada with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Caleb Martin finished with 21 points and three rebounds, while Jazz Johnson added 12 points for the Wolf Pack, who finished the game with three players scoring in double figures.

The Wolf Pack will be hoping to shoot a better percentage from the field and avoid getting upset by the Tigers on Friday night.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet
Rating:

The Wolf Pack have done a great job against the spread, winning five of their last six games and 12 of their last 17 non-conference games. The Tigers have struggled against the spread and have lost 11 of their last 17 non-conference games.

Prediction: Nevada Wolf Pack

Full-Game Total Pick
Rating:

The total has gone under in six of Pacific’s last eight games against teams with winning records and in five of their last seven games against teams with winning home records. The total has also gone under in seven of Nevada’s last 10 games following an ATS win and in seven of the last nine meetings between the two teams.

Prediction: Under

Half-Time Side Pick
Rating:

Even though the Tigers are outscoring the Wolf Pack in the first half 40-34, the Wolf Pack will win the first half of this game because they played a better opponent in their first game and have a better offense than the Tigers.

Prediction: Nevada Wolf Pack

Half-Time Total Bet
Rating:

The Tigers and Wolf Pack combined for 74 first-half points in their season opener, but they will play under the total in the first half because their defenses played well in their season-openers, holding their opponents to 55 combined points.

Prediction: Under
