Washington Huskies vs. Auburn Tigers
Where and when: Auburn Arena, Auburn, Alabama, Friday, 9:30 pm EST
The Washington Huskies will take to the road for a battle with the Auburn Tigers on Friday night at Auburn Arena in Auburn, Alabama, at 9:30 pm EST. The Tigers are coming off a 101-58 home win over the South Alabama Jaguars as they scored 52 points in the first half while getting 20 points each from Jared Harper along with Chuma Okeke en route to the victory.
The Huskies won by 18 points over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at home on Tuesday night as they rallied in the second half, after being down by nine points at the break, to outscore the road team 46-17 in the second thanks to 18 points by Noah Dixon. Look for both teams to maintain their current momentum on Friday night as the Huskies seek their first road victory of the year while the Tigers seek a much better season than their collapse last year to where they were upset in the SEC tournament as the one seed by the Alabama Crimson Tide while losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament to Clemson.
Auburn red-hot from three-point range in win
The Tigers shot 51% from the field versus the Jaguars while also pumping in 18 three pointers for the game. They also had 21 assists on the night while collecting 22 turnovers for the game. As stated, Jared Harper led the team in scoring while going six of ten from three-point range while the Bryce Brown also had four long balls for the Tigers. On the other hand, their defense allowed the Jaguars to shoot only 32% from three points range while being only 37% from the floor.
"@chuma_okeke is a matchup problem. If you're smaller than him, we're going to look to give him the ball in the post. If you're bigger, he's quicker and faster than you, so we like to use him to our advantage."

This is the type of effort will be what the Tigers will need throughout the year if they wish to surpass expectations. Nonetheless, look for them to not have such an easy task as the Huskies hope to improve upon their 39% rank in defending the three points shot on Friday night. If they are not able to, this game may get ugly very quick with the shooters that Auburn possesses.
Huskies get opening night win at home
The Huskies allowed the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky to shoot only 38% from the floor yet the visitors shot 39% from three-point range. In fact, the Hilltoppers could have made this game much more interesting if they did not commit 15 turnovers that ultimately sealed their fate. Nonetheless, the Huskies were able to capitalize on mental mistakes from Western Kentucky in which to get easy baskets and pulling out the home victory.

After their 21-13 season last year and early exit from the NIT, Washington seeks much better outcomes in their games this year. Remaining focused on the task at hand should really be their mantra for 2018. With that being said, they will now face a potentially dangerous Auburn team that possesses the ability to score as well as play solid team defense.
- WASH is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 vs. Southeastern.
- Under is 20-7 in WASH last 27 road games.
- WASH is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 road games
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I will back Auburn at home in this matchup as the Huskies had many variables fall in their favor in their last time out versus Western Kentucky. With that being said, they will now take to the road to play a motivated Auburn team that is looking to obtain some wins in order to build momentum for a grinding SEC schedule. Expect them to continue their hot shooting from opening night as the Huskies will not be able to control the pace in this contest, thus lending to their first loss of the season.
Prediction: Auburn Tigers -650
Full-Game Total Pick
The Tigers, as stated, will indeed score some points in this matchup. On the other hand, they will also give up some points to a Huskie team that is also looking to perform well in which to build confidence moving forward. In all, the road team will make this game interesting, however, the Tigers will be just too strong on the offensive end, thus allowing the over to be the strong play.
Prediction: Over 150.5
Full-Game Prop Bet
Look for Auburn to continue their hot shooting throughout this matchup. Of course, the Huskies will stay in the game early on, however, with great team defense along with the ability to hit their shots consistently, the Tigers will indeed cover the points in this matchup as they will continue their bid to change the minds of the naysayers that doubt they can run the table in the SEC.
Prediction: Auburn Tigers -10.5
Half-Time Side Pick
Again, the Tigers will come out fast in this home contest in which to establish themselves on both sides of the floor. This will certainly benefit them well as they will obtain a comfy lead that they will maintain until the break at the half. In all, I will back the Tigers with points at the half after their all-around team victory on Tuesday night.
Prediction: Auburn Tigers -6
Half-Time Total Bet
And while Auburn will put some points on the board early, look for Washington to also be competitive early as well. And while they struggled to pick up their last victory on Tuesday, possesses a talented nucleus as well that can really put up some points. With that being the case, look for the game to be exciting and high scoring early as the home team will pull away a bit as the first half concludes.
Prediction: Over 71
Half-Time Prop Prediction
Look for the Tigers to win this game without any hiccups. As stated, they possess the better, all-around squad in this matchup and because they are playing at home, expect the intensity to be high. They will be welcoming in a Washington team that last played on Tuesday night before flying across country to face the Tigers. Look for them to be a bit rusty coming out of the game while warming up as the game wears on.
Prediction: Auburn Tigers -360
