The 3-6 Green Bay Phoenix will go on the road to face off with the 6-2 Central Florida Knights at 8:00 PM ET in UCF Arena. These two teams are going in opposite directions, as the Phoenix have lost three of four while the Knights have won three of four. Both of these teams play fast in pace, averaging 82 and 73 points respectively. They also spread the ball around well and neither team turns the ball over much. It’ll be interesting to see if the Knights can cover at home against a hungry Phoenix team that can get hit from the field.

Phoenix consistently outscored by opponents

The Green Bay Phoenix are a team that will try to outscore you, running at the 26th fastest pace in the nation (81.7 PPG). They’ve struggled of late, losing three of four and most recently an 80-93 loss to the Eastern Illinois Panthers. Guards Mack Smith and George Dixon both put up 24 points for the Panthers and were ultimately too much to handle for Green Bay. JayQuan McCloud (17 pts, 7 reb, 2 ast) led the way, but shot just 4-of-14 from the field. Kameron Hankerson has his best game of the season off the bench with 15 points and three boards in 29 minutes. The Phoenix were terrible on defense and couldn’t match the 93 points the Panthers put up.

The Green Bay Phoenix play at the 26th fastest pace out of 300 teams, so they score the ball a ton. Four different players average double-figures with JayQuan McCloud (15.3 pts, 4.7 reb, 4.4 ast) leads the way and the ball goes through his hands every possession. Amari Davis (15 pts, 2.8 reb, 1.6 ast) averages just 23.6 minutes a night, but is one of the best scorers in the conference and he can get hit on any given night. P.J. Pipes (11.6 pts, 2.7 ast, 2.2 reb) and Kameron Hankerson (10.1 pts, 2.8 reb, 2.1 ast) round out the top scorers of this team with 6’6 senior Josh McNair controlling the paint. This is a team that’s going to run and do their best to outscore their opponents.

Back on track with three straight

The UCF Knights have won three straight games and now sit 6-2 on the season. They’re coming off a 78-65 win over the New Jersey Institute of Technology Highlanders in a game that was never in question. All five Central Florida starters put up double-figures with Ceasar Dejesus (15 pts, 3 reb) leading the way. The usual suspects Collin Smith (11 pts, 4 reb, 3 ast) and Dazon Ingram (13 pts, 5 reb, 3 ast) had great games, but weren’t needed to do much offensively. They held the Highlanders to just 65 points on 37.5% field goal shooting.

The Knights play at an average pace, putting up 72.8 points a night. They’re a much bigger team than Green Bay, averaging double the blocks and rebounds. Junior forward Collin Smith is the leader of this team, averaging 14.6 points and 6.3 rebounds a night in just 28.8 minutes. Guards Dazon Ingram (10.9 pts, 6.9 reb, 3.8 ast) and Darin Green Jr. (10.3 pts, 2.0 reb) round out the scorers and they play key complementary roles to Collin Smith on the inside

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.

Full-Game Side Bet

Green Bay beats people with speed, and this UCF team is not one that will get outrun. They have the ability to keep up in the open floor while also taking advantage on the inside. Forward Collin Smith is three inches taller than the tallest Phoenix player and he’s going to have a field day in the paint. JayQuan McCloud and Amari Davis will get open shots in the open floor and they can each put up 20 points. This isn’t enough points for the UCF Knights as I expect them to dominate.

Prediction: UCF -10.5

Full-Game Total Pick

I expect the Knights to invite the fast-paced play. They’re better shooters (+4% FG) and they turn the ball over less. The Knights are going to have a big advantage in the paint and Collin Smith is a big man capable of running the floor. It’s a big number, but I expect these two teams to play fast and go over with ease.

Prediction: Over 158
