Milwaukee is fresh off playing three games in three days at the Islands of the Bahamas Showcase during which they lost their last game narrowly to George Washington. The Panthers continue their road trip on Tuesday when they visit Drake.
The Bulldogs also are coming off tournament play where they won their last two games. Tuesday's game takes place at the Knapp Center with tip-off scheduled for 8 p.m. EST.
The Panthers searching for more consistent scoringMilwaukee has stayed in games thanks to its tenacious defense. However, their offense hasn't been able to follow suit. The Panthers did an excellent job with shot selection inside the paint, though their perimeter game was lacking. They made only three three-pointers in their loss to George Washington.
This is one of the factors to watch on Tuesday when they face an outstanding Drake defense. The Bulldogs held Murray State to 18% shooting in the second half and a season-low 53 points.
The Panthers must find a way to balance their offense with consistent perimeter shooting. Failing to do so against a stout defense like the one Drake has will play into the Bulldogs' strengths as they don't have to contend with a key area of the court.
Defensively, one player Milwaukee must account for is D.J. Wilkins. He made four three-pointers to lead Drake over Murray State. Milwaukee must do a good job of containing his ability to knock down shots from outside or they could be playing to Drake's tempo.
The Bulldogs' outstanding defenseDrake was able to turn their tournament fortunes around thanks to the strong play of its defense that didn't give Murray State any room for open scoring opportunities. Against one of the more prolific offenses in the country, the Bulldogs dominated.

Look for them to do the same on Tuesday. One player they must limit is Darius Roy, who led Milwaukee in scoring in their loss to George Washington. Another X-factor to the game could be Josh Thomas. Thomas comes off the bench to supply double-digit scoring production, so the Bulldogs have to be aware of his abilities when he's in the game.
Offensively, they face a Milwaukee defense that did a good job containing George Washington at times. However, their offense couldn't come up with any big shots so the key for Drake is to apply pressure early by making some shots from the perimeter. Doing so places added emphasis on Milwaukee to try to keep up.

- 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Tuesday games
- 2-5 in their last 7 games against opponents with a winning record of .600 or greater
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I like Drake because their offense is more versatile. Not only do they have threats in the paint, but also on the perimeter, which can stretch Milwaukee's defense. Speaking of defense, as good as the Panthers have been, the Bulldogs are better. I expect them to contain Milwaukee's limited offensive attack on their way to a win at home.
Full-Game Total Pick
Drake is 6-0-1 in the Under in their last seven non-conference games. Given Milwaukee's inability to shoot well from the perimeter and the fact they're facing a defense that held Murray State to a season-low 53 points, I expect this trend to continue.
