Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners vs. Ole Miss Rebels
NCAAB: Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 2:00 PM EST
Cal State Bakersfield had won two straight games before losing their last game to UC Santa Barbara. They are 4-6 on the season and this is their first game facing a team from a major conference. The Roadrunners had scored 87 and 70 points, respectively, in winning two in a row before only putting up 60 points in losing their last game.
Ole Miss got off to a solid start to the season facing some weaker teams, but they have lost three of their last four games playing some tough teams. In their last four games, they have faced two ranked teams and came away with two losses. In losing two in a row the Rebels’ offense has sputtered only scoring 37 and 58 points, respectively.
The 3-Pointer HurtsIn their last game, CSU Bakersfield lost to UCSB 64-60 and while they held the Gauchos to an FG% of only 38.5% they only shot 42.3% from the floor and were cold from deep missing 15 of their 20 3-pointers. Not only have the Roadrunners lost all three of their road games but they lost them all by double digits.
Taze Moore (12 ppg) is the only player for CSB that is averaging in double figures on the season and after going for double figures in three straight games he only scored three points on 1/6 shooting in the loss to UCSB. Cazr Perry (9.8 ppg) is the 2nd leading scorer for the Roadrunners and he was the only player in double figures in the UCSB game going for a season-high 23 points and in his last four games he has averaged 13.3 ppg and in one of those games only went for four points. De'Monte Buckingham (9.3 ppg) had totaled 28 points in two games before only going for four points in the loss to UCSB.
Offense has Fallen FlatOle Miss has lost two in a row where their offense has struggled, big time, totaling 95 points while in their previous two games they totaled 160 points. The team has a good defense but they only rank tied for 282nd in the nation averaging 68 ppg. In their last game, they lost to a ranked Butler team 67-58 where they only shot 40% from the floor and allowed the Bulldogs to shoot 51.1%.

Breein Tyree leads three players for Ole Miss averaging at least 11 ppg at 16 ppg and he had 22 points in the loss to Butler shooting 50% from the floor while only going for seven in the previous game, which was an embarrassing 78-37 loss to Oklahoma State. KJ Buffen is the 2nd leading scorer and leading rebounder (7 rpg) and he has only totaled six points and nine boards in his last three games. Blake Hinson is averaging 11 ppg bit has only totaled 12 points in his last two games where he failed to shoot over 33.3% from the floor in each of them.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
Ole Miss has lost two straight games, but both came against good teams from major conferences. That is not who CS Bakersfield is and the Roadrunners are in for a tough game in this one. The 2nd and 3rd leading scorers for the Rebels have really struggled in the last couple of games but they will score well in this game and I look for Tyree to have another big game. Ole Miss is simply too big and too athletic for the Roadrunners to handle and this game could get ugly early. The Rebels will easily win and cover in their house in this game snapping their two-game skid.
Prediction: Ole Miss
Full-Game Total Pick
I have to go with the Under in this one even though I think Ole Miss will have a big shooting game and put up a lot of points. I see them dominating CS Bakersfield keeping them to a very low point total. The Roadrunners simply do not have the scoring and their defense will be overwhelmed by the Rebels. Ole Miss will win this game handily and their offense will get back on track after two sub-par performances but they still do not rank in the top 280 in the nation in ppg, which is why the Under is my pick.
