Maryland Terrapins vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers
NCAAB: Tuesday, February 12th 2018 7:00 PM EST TIME
Although Nebraska is about as hot of a team as the Big Ten has in what has been a down season for the conference, Tim Miles’ squad needs to keep winning if it hopes to rest easy on Selection Sunday. The Cornhuskers eye a sixth straight league victory for the first time since the end of the 1997-98 campaign Tuesday when they host Maryland.
Maryland Ready To Bounce Back
Sophomore Kevin Huerter (14.8 points) tallied 12 of his game-high 22 points in the first 4 1/2 minutes of the Terrapins’ most lopsided victory in conference action, extending his streak of scoring at least 12 points to 20 games.
Dion Wiley responded to coach Mark Turgeon’s criticism of his recent lack of aggressiveness after contributing little more than six points in 23 minutes during Wednesday’s loss at Penn State, providing 10 points, five rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes versus the Wildcats. Freshman guard Darryl Morsell, who is 19-for-32 from the field over the last four contests, matched a season high with nine rebounds Saturday and has collected at least seven in six of his last 10 outings.
Nebraska On A Roll
With a five-point loss at Ohio State on Jan. 22 serving as its only blemish in over a month, Nebraska has won seven of its last eight to rise to fourth place in the Big Ten. The Cornhuskers improved to 13-1 at Pinnacle Bank Arena – 6-0 in conference action – following Saturday’s 67-55 victory over Rutgers, putting them on the verge of their first 20-win regular season since 1992-93.
Nebraska would be well-served to win out to stay on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble. The Terrapins are coming off a 73-57 triumph over Northwestern on Saturday but have dropped six in a row on the road and are 1-7 away from home this season.

Nebraska has won its last three Big Ten home games by double figures – the first time it has accomplished that feat since 1997-98. Saturday marked the first time Wiley, who averages 20.1 minutes, grabbed more than one rebound in a game since Jan. 7 or finished with more than one assist since Dec. 7. The Cornhuskers are going to once again keep the streak alive.
