We have the Big East in the house, and we have what could be a highly competitive contest when the Creighton Blue Jays travel to Ohio for a matchup with the Xavier Musketeers. Creighton is currently six games behind the top spot in the Big East and Xavier is in last place in the conference, and seven games behind Villanova.
Creighton Need Wins Now
Creighton has had a difficult season, and as their 13-11 record suggests, the Blue Jays most likely won’t get an invitation to any postseason NCAA sanctioned tournaments. With seven games left on their schedule, Creighton has probably run out of time to win the Big East, but they could go on a run and maybe get an invitation to the NIT. In order to do that, the Blue Jays need to win and that starts on Wednesday night at Xavier.
Creighton looks for a regular-season sweep against defending BIG EAST champion Xavier on Wednesday.

Marcus Zegarowski has found his way onto the Blue Jays injury list and is averaging 10.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists. Zegarowski has missed the past two games and the Blue Jays have lost both games.
Ty-Shon Alexander leads Creighton in scoring, averaging 16.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game this season. Alexander is drilling 3.2 triples and has exceeded his scoring average once in the past four games.
Creighton is scoring an average of 80.4 points, 7.3 offensive rebounds, 27 defensive rebounds and 16.3 assists per game this season.
Xavier Rebuild Going Well
Xavier most likely won’t be receiving any invitations for any NCAA sanctioned postseason tournaments. With just six upperclassmen on their roster, this was a rebuilding year for the Musketeers. And Xavier has done well, posting a regular season record of 11 wins and 13 losses and a conference record of three wins and eight losses, and are looking forward to a summer of development and of course a much better record next season.

The Musketeers aren’t listing any injuries for their Wednesday night game with Creighton.
Xavier lost by 22 points the last time they played Creighton, so there is a revenge factor. The Musketeers have a home record of nine wins and five losses and have lost seven consecutive games.
Sophomore forward Naji Marshall leads the Musketeers in scoring, averaging 13.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Marshall is also knocking down one triple per game and has exceeded his scoring average in three of his last five games.
- Musketeers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss.
- Musketeers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 vs. Big East.
- Blue Jays are 21-5 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
I don’t trust Creighton on the road at all, but I trust Xavier even less. This would be a solid win for Xavier but they won’t beat Creighton on Wednesday. Alexander from Creighton has been red hot and I don’t see any of the Musketeers stopping that young fella on Wednesday. I’m with Creighton in this one.
Prediction: Creighton -1 Point
Full-Game Total Pick
That number seems way too high for this game. Creighton is going to smother the Musketeers at home and finish the job on the offensive end. When I added everything together, I came away with 134 points. That seemed maybe 6-8 points low, and I would be surprised if this game finishes over the total. I’m playing the under on Wednesday.
Prediction: Under 147.5 points
