Seton Hall Pirates vs. Marquette Golden Eagles
NCAAB Basketball: Friday March 15th 2019 6:30 PM EST TIME
The Seton Hall Pirates are looking to keep their winning streak alive as they head into the next round of the Big East tournament. As for the Golden Eagles, they steam rolled with an easy win on Thursday afternoon.
Seton Hall Notes
Ever since the Seton Hall Pirates took care of the Villanova Wildcats near the end of the regular season, they have been on fire. The Pirates come into this game with an overall record of 8-12 and 9-9 in Big East play. The reason why the Pirates are into the next round is thanks to their impressive win over the Georgetown Hoyas. The Pirates rushed out of the gates with one of the best 1st half this season as they dropped 53 points. On the flip side, their defense matched the red-hot offensive play and held the Hoyas to only 28 points. With an already 25 point lead, the Pirates cruised in the second half to an easy lead. The Pirates were led by Myles Powell as he finished the game with 31 points.

The Seton Hall offense has been the shining point of the team as they scored an average of 73.8 points in the regular season and dropped 73 in the opening conference game. On the flip side, their defense still needs to tighten up down the stretch especially against the red-hot Golden Eagles. They allowed 71.6 points per game which was 186th in the league.
The Seton Hall Pirates might of had one of their hottest starts this season, but the Marquette Golden Eagles went one level above them on Thursday. The Golden Eagles finally snapped a four-game losing streak with a huge 86-54 win of St. John’s in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. Just like the Pirates, the Golden Eagles used an impressive start but this time in the second half as they had a 25-2 run in the 2nd half. With the win, now the Golden Eagles will take on the Pirates who split the two games with them so far this season. In the win, it was an impressive 30 point performance out of Markus Howard who also added on seven rebounds and five assists.

The Golden Eagles offense has been one of the best in the conference as they scored an average of 77.4 points in the regular season and dropped 86 points in the opening conference game. On the flip side, their defense is starting to heat up as well. They allowed 69.2 points per game in the regular season which was 122nd in the league.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
This was a totally different team the Marquette Golden Eagles showed on Thursday. Everybody was on board the Seton Hall train to keep the Golden Eagles historic bad streak going on advancing to this round, but the Golden Eagles are proving everyone wrong. This is a fired up team that will continue their winning ways.
Full-Game Total Pick
Both the Pirates and the Golden Eagles had one of the best offensive performances in the quarterfinals. With the 24 hour rest, I do not see them focusing more on the defensive side as the long ball will continue to be a success. Take the Over here.
