The NCAA Tournament is here and it’s time to make some cash with the Flash!! We have a terrific contest to consider for Thursday night when number 10 seed Seton Hall Pirates take on the Wofford Terriers in a first round, Midwest Region contest. Wofford is the Southern Conference Champion and Seton Hall was runner-up to Villanova in the Big East Tournament after tying for fourth place in the Big East. This is going to be a great game to preview and I’m the Flash, and you’re about to make “cash with the Flash”!!
The Pirates Great Big East Tourney Performance
Seton Hall finished their season in a three-way tie for fourth place and a Big East Tournament run that saw the Pirates take out Georgetown and Marquette before losing a two-point heartbreaker to Villanova in the final by a score of 74-72. KenPom ranks Seton Hall at number 55 in the country and their strength of schedule number 40 in the country, so this team deserves to be here. The Pirates have had losing streaks of four consecutive and three consecutive games this season and both losing streaks came after January 12, 2019. So, the Pirates are a streaky side on a winning streak which is a good thing for them because Wofford is a good side waiting for national respect.

The Pirates aren’t listing any injuries for their Thursday matchup against Wofford.
This will be the two sides first and only meeting this season. Seton Hall has a neutral court record of 5-1 this season and is hoping to end a one-game losing streak.
Junior guard Myles Powell leads the Pirates in scoring, averaging 22.9 points per game with four rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Powell drains 3.1 three-pointers per night and has met or exceeded his scoring average in four of the last five games.
Seton Hall scores an average of 73.9 points per game and hauls down 9.1 offensive rebounds, 26.7 defensive rebounds and dish 13.5 assists per game this season.
When asked how he was going to deal with Wofford sharpshooter Fletcher Magee, sophomore guard Myles Cale had this to say;
“I’ll use my length, contesting his shot and making it hard for passes to get to him,” Cale said. “He uses screens so well, you’ve really got to follow him around.”
Late Wednesday afternoon. Powell was asked how playing in this tournament was different than his previous appearances
For me, it was easy following the four seniors. They did such a great job on and off the court of leading this program in the right direction, so I mean, now the spotlight is on all us three right here and it’s different. But we’re definitely ready for it, our coach has prepared us for it, and we’ve got each other’s back.
Stay tuned for more updates right up until tip-off time.
Wofford Brings Their 20 Game Winning Streak to Big Dance
Wofford had a dream-like season, and their 29-4 overall record and 18-0 mark in the Southern Conference was truly outstanding, and the Flash salutes them on their awesome season!! But are they really that good? KenPom sure thinks so; the advanced metrics site ranks the Terriers as the number 19 team in the country with a strength of schedule of 112, so must be pretty good. The Terriers hasn’t had a losing streak of over one game all season, so this Wofford side knows a lot about winning and very little about losing this season.

The Terriers aren’t listing any injuries for their game against Seton Hall.
Wofford hasn’t faced the Pirates yet this season and the Terriers have a neutral site record of 3-0 and are riding an incredible 20 game winning streak.
Senior guard Fletcher Magee leads Wofford in scoring, averaging 20.5 points per game with 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Magee drains nearly five triples per game and has met or exceeded his scoring average in three of the last five games. Magee had this to say about finishing his career playing in the NCAA Tournament;
“Advancing to the NCAA Tournament in our last year together is probably the most rewarding feeling,” Magee said. “We came in together (and) our goal was to win the conference tournament and go to the NCAA Tournament and win some games in the NCAA Tournament.”
Wednesday Head Coach Mike Young was asked about Myles Powell;
“If I watch one more video of Myles, yeah, just an elite scorer and he’s got all the tricks. I think of New York City, New Jersey guys that can really score the ball, shot fake, get you in the air, get into you, get fouled, unlimited range. You try to press up and he blows your doors off and gets into your post players, where he’s terrific in getting fouled.
He is just a really, really talented basketball player. I’ll tell you something else that I’ve been impressed with him, he makes the right play. He’s a good basketball player. You see Marquette and you see Villanova and you see these others that try to do some things to him to negate his ability to get shots off. He throws the ball to people when they’re open, and I admire that about him. Myles Powell is terrific. I’ve enjoyed watching him play. I don’t know that I’ll enjoy seeing him play my team tomorrow”
The Terriers score an average of 83 points per game and reels in 9.9 offensive rebounds, 25.6 defensive rebounds and drop an average of 15.4 dimes per game this season.
Stay tuned for more updates right until tip-off time.

The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
This Wofford side has had an incredible season, and the Terriers shoot an amazing 41 percent from long range this season. This Magee kid can really shoot it but Seton Hall has allowed teams to shoot just 33 percent from downtown against them this season. I think that is going to make a difference here. The other thing about Wofford? They have a record of 0-4 this season against teams that either were or ranked in the top 25 whereas Seton Hall were 5-6 against top 25 competition this season. This should be a close game, but I’m rolling with Seton Hall on Thursday evening.
Prediction: Seton Hall +3 Points
Full-Game Total Pick
This is far too many points for this match up. Wofford has lived by the triple all season long and doesn’t have one big win to show for their season. Just a bunch of little wins strung together. Seton Hall has a top 50 defense and and darn good at chasing shooters off the three point line and the Terriers might be better at both than the Pirates are. The Terriers are the better rebounding side and particularly on the offensive side so I expect Wofford to win the battle of second chance points.
When I added everything together, I wound up with 134.5 points and felt that might be very close to the total. I was right and I’m playing the under on Thursday.
Prediction: Under 143 Points
