North Dakota Bison vs. Duke Blue Devils
March Madness First Round: Friday, March 22nd 2019 7:10 PM EST TIME
The North Dakota Bison are looking to be one of the biggest upsets in the dance as they take on the No.1 ranked Duke Blue Devils. As for the Devils, they are looking to head into the championship talk with Zion.
The North Dakota State Bison are looking for another victory in March as they come into this game with some momentum. The Bison were one of the first ones to play in this tournament as they had to earn their way into this dance by beating North Carolina Central on Wednesday. It was an impressive win by the Bison as they controlled the game pretty much the whole game and played locked down defense late. Let’s see if the Bison can keep that going. They come into this important first-round game averaging 73.2 points on 45.6 percent shooting and allowing 72.2 points on 46.1 percent shooting. If they are going to slow down Duke, who averaged over 80 points per game, they are going to need to slow down Zion who is getting a double-double pretty much every game. The Bison are led by their own star Vinnie Shahid who is averaging 12.8 points and three rebounds per game.
Here’s the deal — if you can make the shot from behind that curved line, they’ll give you 3 points for it, instead of 2. pic.twitter.com/Rbg1aPKD14

The Bison also have some secret plays for them against Duke as they can shot the ball well behind the arc. The Bison come into this game with shooting 36.6 percent from beyond the arc. If they are able to decrease the margin with a couple of threes, they can get into this game quickly.
If you are ready this preview, there is at least a 65% chance you picked Duke to win it all. They are one of the most elite teams in the conference and a good part of that has to do with the level of performance by Zion Williamson. For the Blue Devils they come into this game with winning five of their last six games. They were also crowned the ACC title champions as they are ready to showcase why they deserve another championship. As stated above, the Blue Devils offense is one of the best in the league as they are averaging 83.5 points on 47.7 percent shooting and allowing 67.6 points on 39.5 percent shooting. With taking on a team that can barley cross the 70 point margin, might be an easy victory for them. Coming into this game, the Blue Devils are led by Zion Williamson who is averaging 22.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. However enough of Zion, the Blue Devils also have RJ Barrett who is averaging 22.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.

As stated above, I talked about the potential chance the Bison could have with their long ball in the game. However, there is a problem with that as the Blue Devils are allowing 26.3 percent shooting from deep. If they can lock down that arc early in the game, this is going to get ugly and fast.
- Blue Devils are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games.
- Bison are 16-35-1 ATS in their last 52 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.
- Bison are 5-12-1 ATS in their last 18 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
- Bison are 10-27-1 ATS in their last 38 non-conference games
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
It is a large spread, however this is going to be the easiest game for the Devils as it will only get tougher from here. No need to worry about any late free throw attempts as this is going to get ugly fast. Take the Blue Devils.
Prediction: BLUE DEVILS
Full-Game Total Pick
I do expect the Bison to jump quickly off the gate as that will help the Over hitting here. After that, expect all Duke as the Over is 4-1 in Blue Devils last 5 NCAA Tournament games.
