Virginia Cavaliers vs. Duke Blue Devils
College Football Week 8: Saturday October 20th 2018 12:30 PM EST TIME
The Virginia Cavaliers are hoping for a fresh start to begin their second round of the season as they head onto the road to take on the Blue Devils. Both the Cavaliers and Blue Devils are having an average season thus far as whoever wins this game will be the clear front runner to possible re-start the ACC conference play.
Cavaliers Upset Win
The Virginia Cavaliers are hoping to get their fifth win of the season as they head into Duke to take on the Blue Devils. This will be a key matchup for the Wallace Wade Stadium as the ACC showdown between the Blue Devils and them will need another upset win. Speaking of upset win, the Cavaliers are coming off of one heading into this conference as they are off a huge win against the Miami Hurricanes. However some of the losses so far this season have been been pretty brutal as they have lost to the teams of Indiana and NC State. Will they be able to turn it around on the ground game?
How about some highlights?

In the upset win against the #16 ranked Hurricanes, it was all about the defense. Remember how the turnover chain created in Miami? Well that same chain was all over on the Cavaliers sidelined as they forced five of them against the ranked Hurricanes. Expect them to continue to take some turnovers away in Duke.
Ready For History
The Duke Blue Devils are ready for another statement win as they are coming off another win. They are looking to create a two game winning streak with a win against the Cavaliers as they come into this game with heavy favorites to take them down. Why are they heavy favorites? They come into this game sitting at 5-1 on the season and their only loss came against the Virginia Tech Hookies. However besides that loss, they have huge wins against the Army Black Knights, Baylor Bears, Northwestern Wildcats and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Coming into this game, the Blue Devils have had a balanced offense on the year, however they have had a better passing game as of late. In the win against the Yellow Jackets, it was all about quarterback Daniel Jones who would total 206 passing yards with three touchdowns. Expect Jones to be a passing first offense with Duke as the Cavaliers are still allowing over 250 passing yards per game.
DUKE BLUE DEVILS
- Blue Devils are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.
- Blue Devils are 5-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
- Blue Devils are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win.
- Cavaliers are 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game.
- Cavaliers are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
The Bottom Line What to bet on this game.
Full-Game Side Bet
The Duke Blue Devils have been very impressive so far this season as they have been one of the most balanced teams so far this season. No need to do anything fancy as the Devils have been able to cover the spread for the past two weeks. With the way the Devils have also been able to have a defensive minded approach only allowing twenty points or more in two games, expect the same pressure to continue Saturday.
Prediction: Blue Devils -8.5
Full-Game Total Pick
It is all about defense for the Blue Devils, and they do perform better at home as well. The Under is 4-0 in Blue Devils last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. As well as 9-1 in Blue Devils last 10 conference games. The Cavaliers have yet to really have an offensive explosion this season as I see this game hitting the Under.
